The missile warning system on duty detected about 30 ballistic missile launches during the same period
MOSCOW, November 22. /TASS/. During the summer training period (June 1 - November 30), the main space situation intelligence center (RKO) issued a warning about dangerous approaches of various objects to Russian satellites 18 times. This is stated in the message of the Ministry of defense, distributed on Sunday.
As specified in the military Department, the center's specialists carried out more than 1.5 thousand special works, " during which they discovered and accepted more than 450 space objects for tracking, monitored the launch of about 300 spacecraft into orbit, and issued 18 warnings about dangerous approaches of space objects to the Russian orbital group."
During the same period, the missile warning system on duty detected about 30 launches of foreign and domestic ballistic missiles and space missiles. In turn, the specialists of the RKO SC provided five launches of spacecraft. Four Soyuz-2 launch vehicles and a proton-M rocket launched vehicles for various purposes from the Plesetsk and Baikonur cosmodromes.
"The duty forces of the ground-based automated control complex of the space forces of the VKS conducted more than 220 thousand control sessions and more than 55 thousand sessions of providing control of spacecraft of the Russian orbital group," the Russian defense Ministry noted.
