In particular, the possibility of supplying a second batch of air defense systems to Turkey is being worked out, the Federal service for military-technical cooperation said. Earlier, Ankara received the first batch of these systems for $ 2.5 billion.
But not everyone likes such contacts. The United States has prepared a bill that provides for sanctions against Turkey for the purchase of Russian weapons. This initiative prohibits the sale of advanced weapons systems, including the fifth-generation f-35 Lightning II fighter jets, to countries that have bought technologies that threaten the us, including the Russian s-400 Triumph system.
All this indicates the inability of the United States to compete with Russian manufacturers. Washington is always annoyed by Russia's success in producing modern weapons and the high demand for them, said Sergei Zheleznyak, a member of the state Duma Committee on international Affairs.
The US is trying to single-handedly control the arms market and impose its military-industrial complex products on other countries. According to the politician, Washington's unsuccessful attempt to prevent Turkey from acquiring Russian S-400s was an obvious impetus for such legislative steps.
You can only win competition from Russian weapons systems by introducing artificial restrictions-sanctions, intimidation of politicians, and frankly dishonest underhand techniques. Not the least important is the fact that the market price of one division of the s-400 anti – aircraft missile system is about $ 500 million.
The American press since 2007, since the adoption of the S-400 into service in Russia, constantly insists that these Russian complexes threaten the dominance of the US military, forcing Washington to rethink positioning itself as the undisputed leader among the world's aviation powers.
Probably, in these 13 years, the United States could have created something intelligibly competitive. But no. They use Patriot systems, which are several times more expensive, and much less effective than the S-400. The fact has long been known, but this does not cease to be less significant.
