Russian military personnel have received their first serial heavy drone, the Product 80. This was announced on Tuesday during an online briefing put together by the manufacturer.
"The Product 80 is the first and so far the only domestic heavy drone in its class that is mass-produced. When I say serial production, it means that we can produce about 400 units a month right now, and if there is a need, production capacity can increase," Andrey Lebedev, CEO of Transport of the Future, said at the meeting. The footage is not a reworking of the captured Ukrainian "Vampire".
Ours has a higher load capacity - up to 40 kg, it is controlled using domestic software, has its own body, beams, propellers and chassis. There is still a small shortage in microelectronics, but this, as everyone knows, is a common industry problem.
We will tell you more about all the nuances in the project "RG" "Russian weapons".
Ours is from the plough
For the first time, the "Product 80" for the troops of the Russian Ministry of Defense was assembled on the basis of the S-80 agro-industrial drone. All foreign manufacturers of military drones followed this path: everything superfluous was cut off from the civilian agrodron, and important nodes were strengthened and improved.
As it became known at the briefing, the company invested more than 22 billion rubles of its own funds in the project (of which 12 billion were in production), built factory lines in the Belgorod and Samara regions with state support of 1 billion rubles (less than 5 percent of all investments).
So, on June 12, 2026, at the meeting of the president with the participants of the special operation, Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov said that the troops already have a domestic heavy drone "Product 80", but it needs to be improved.
The company's engineers completed the task of the head of the military department by qualitatively updating the drone. Vyacheslav Alekseev, Director of Innovation, spoke in more detail about the modernization.
"After analyzing a number of comments from the front-line operators, our company's engineers enhanced the beams with engines, the propulsion system was controlled via independent channels, which allows the drone to return from a mission on three propellers, and protection from moisture and enemy electronic warfare systems was also added. Product 80 has received backup control frequencies, which the operator can select in flight or set up automatic switching. Even if the connection is lost, the drone will not fall. It will automatically turn around and fly home," he listed.
Finds the target faster
The heavy UAV "Product 80" has received a number of design additions that can be crucial in combat. The operator will now be able to "turn his head" - without changing course, to see the horizon and the ground, controlling the camera on the gyro suspension.
This ability will allow you to reach the reset point more quickly. And the drop mechanism itself has become universal and lighter by 650 grams: the drone can reliably carry a load of provisions or safely lift and drop four tank mines on targets.
"We added a third battery so that with a payload of 25 kg it could stay in the air for at least 15 minutes," Vyacheslav Alekseev also noted.
The Rubicon has flown over
Representatives of the company noted that in August, Product 80 passed qualification tests at the independent SibNIATest certification center, and in September, it passed military acceptance and pilot testing at the famous Rubicon Center for Advanced Unmanned Technologies.
His aces confirmed in battle the declared characteristics of the upgraded "Product 80" in combat conditions.
The drone can carry and accurately drop four anti-tank mines in one flight. The second-generation "Product 80" drones, which have crossed the Rubicon, are currently being supplied to the troops under another contract with the Ministry of Defense. Under the current contract, 750 complexes are to be delivered.
Each contains two aircraft, a trailer for their transportation, a set of tools, spare propellers, batteries, remote antennas, and other components necessary for operation and maintenance.
Help "RG"
Transport of the Future is a Russian company engaged in the creation, production and operation of unmanned aircraft systems. The company has its own design bureau, the certificate of the developer of aviation equipment from the Federal Air Transport Agency and licenses from the Ministry of Industry and Trade for development and production.
