New solutions for the fuel and energy sector within the framework of the national project "New Nuclear and Energy Technologies" were discussed at the Russian Energy Week
The United Engine Corporation of Rostec State Corporation is ready to create new energy equipment with a capacity of up to 45 MW. It is proposed to use the AL-41ST-25 engine as the base platform. The prospective installation can be used to replace retiring capacities at Russian thermal power plants and to develop distributed generation. New solutions for the fuel and energy sector within the framework of the national project "New Nuclear and Energy Technologies" were discussed at the Russian Energy Week.
The new-generation AL-41ST-25 engine and the advantages of its modification can be viewed at the stand of the Institute of Oil and Gas Technological Initiatives as part of the Russian Energy Week. The exhibition is dedicated to the national project "New Nuclear and Energy Technologies". It is he who determines the development of nuclear technologies and promising energy solutions. The national project focuses on ensuring Russia's global leadership in the energy sector and technological sovereignty in new technologies.
The promising industrial engine AL-41ST-25 was developed by the A. Lyulka Design Bureau, a branch of UEC—UMPO, for import substitution in the gas transportation industry in the most demanded segment of capacity of 25 and 32 MW. The engine has unique characteristics that make it possible to maintain efficiency in difficult climatic conditions, and is highly environmentally friendly. The compact, modular design ensures easy transportation, quick installation, commissioning and maintenance.
UEC considers the AL-41ST-25 as a basic platform for creating an energy modification with a capacity of up to 45 MW to replace the outgoing capacity at Russian thermal power plants and the development of distributed generation. ODK Engineering is a developer and integrated supplier of gas turbine equipment based on engines manufactured by UEC enterprises.
"The AL-41ST-25 engine has an unsurpassed power efficiency of over 39% in its class and is developed on the basis of a unique gas generator, which allows it to form a power line of promising industrial AL-41ST engines. As part of the national project, we propose to provide the industry with fully domestic new—generation gas turbine equipment with a capacity of 45 MW to replace foreign gas turbine equipment at energy generation facilities," said Andrey Vorobyov, CEO of UEC Engineering.
To date, the ODK-UMPO enterprise has manufactured two prototypes of the AL-41ST-25 engine with a capacity of 25 MW. Pilot operation of the equipment as part of the gas pumping unit at the Arskaya compressor station in Tatarstan is underway. Based on the test results of the second prototype, the designers of the A. Lyulka Design Bureau applied technical solutions to increase reliability and improve engine parameters. This made it possible to achieve an efficiency of 39.3% under ISO conditions, the best indicator among engines with a capacity of 25 MW. The gas dynamics of the flow section has also been improved and the air and oil supply systems have been improved.
The International Forum "Russian Energy Week" is the largest event in the field of energy, which takes place from October 14 to October 16 in Moscow. The organizers are the Government of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation and the Roscongress Foundation.
