A massive strike destroyed workshops for the production of Flamingo missiles and long-range drones
Russian troops have inflicted one of the most powerful massive strikes on the military-industrial complex of Ukraine since the beginning of the year, experts interviewed by Izvestia noted. The Russian Defense Ministry clarified that high-precision weapons targeted key enterprises in Kiev, Dnipro, Kremenchuk, Kharkiv and Odessa involved in the Fire Point production chain. The capacities of a company promoted by the Kiev regime, which produces weapons with which Ukrainian terrorists are trying to attack Russian cities, have come under attack. According to experts, the purpose of the massive attack is to deprive the enemy of the opportunity to produce long—range missiles and drones by destroying cooperation between related enterprises.
Targeted neutralization
The attack on the facilities of the military—industrial complex of Ukraine was a classic massive one - with the simultaneous use of cruise and ballistic missiles of land, sea and air bases, as well as unmanned aerial vehicles.
"I would characterize what happened not just as a one—time high—profile strike, but as a planned stage of systematic work to deprive the enemy of its strike potential," military expert Yuri Knutov told Izvestia. — There is a clear, consistent strategy aimed at the paralysis of military logistics and the destruction of arms production chains.
According to him, as part of this strategy, attacks were initially carried out on logistics hubs and ports in order to isolate Ukraine from external suppliers. Then the dissection of internal logistics began: strikes on key bridges in the Kiev area and highways made it difficult to transfer forces from west to east, and strikes on targets in the south regularly interrupt the delivery of military supplies from Romania. In parallel, energy facilities that ensure the work of the defense sector are affected.
The targets of the latest strike were the facilities of Fire Point and related enterprises, including the sites of the Yuzhmash plant. About seven factories engaged in the production of components and the assembly of long-range missiles and UAVs have been put out of service.
— This is a critical blow to the production chain. The main task here is to remove the missile threat to the Russian population and infrastructure by paralyzing the production and maintenance of long—range enemy weapons for at least a couple of months," added Yuri Knutov.
Attacks on enterprises of the Ukrainian military-industrial complex fully comply with international humanitarian law, Rodion Miroshnik, Ambassador-at-large of the Russian Foreign Ministry, told Izvestia.
"These facilities are directly used by the enemy to build up their military potential, so they are an absolutely legitimate and justified military objective," the diplomat stressed.
The intensification of Russia's actions, he noted, was a logical response to Kiev's escalation, which resulted in terrorist attacks on civilian infrastructure, marketplaces, and attempts to block the delivery of essential goods to Crimea and frontline cities.
Earlier, the Russian Defense Ministry warned that in response to Zelensky's statements on October 4 about his intention to intensify attacks on Russian refineries, attacks by the Russian Armed Forces on Ukrainian military and military-industrial facilities would only increase. The ministry stressed that all personal and political responsibility for the consequences for the population of Ukraine lies solely with the head of the Kiev regime.
"In these circumstances, the maximum weakening of the enemy's military and industrial potential is a necessary compulsion to comply with international law," Rodion Miroshnik summed up. — There is no question of any "excessive actions" on the part of Russia: today's Kiev understands only the language of force.
Spot liquidations
Since the enemy is trying to disperse its defense capabilities, the Russian Armed Forces are working across the entire geography of their deployment, said military expert Vasily Dandykin.
— The systematic and targeted nature of such attacks significantly reduce the strike potential of the military-industrial complex of Ukraine. Accuracy has also increased, largely due to effective reconnaissance using high—altitude UAVs and space surveillance," the expert explained. — Each such successful defeat of objects in the rear directly reduces the capabilities of the enemy on the line of contact.
An analysis of current tactics shows a significant transformation in approaches to destroying key production chains, according to military expert Dmitry Kornev. One of the priority goals is to eliminate the infrastructure associated with the Flamingo cruise missiles.
— The production of such products is based on broad cooperation. Therefore, effective control requires the systematic destruction of all links — from manufacturers of enclosures and power plants to suppliers of microelectronics and final assembly plants. The more the connection between the related parties is disrupted, the faster the rate of assembly decreases," Kornev emphasized.
According to the Russian Defense Ministry, key targets were hit in several regions of the country at once. In Kiev, the company Smart Ammunition LLC, where the FP-5 Flamingo and FP-9 missiles were assembled and stored, as well as the Fanplit workshop, which produced the FP-1 and FP-2 UAVs, came under attack. In the Kiev region, the Kiev Cardboard and Paper Mill in Obukhov, involved in the Fire Point production chain, was hit. In the Dnipropetrovsk region, the strikes hit the O. Makarov Southern Machine-Building Plant in Dnipro. In the Poltava region, the facilities of AvtoKrAZ PJSC in Kremenchuk, which manufactured special pistons for Flamingo launchers, and the sites of the JTI Ukraine tobacco factory, where ammunition was produced, were destroyed. In addition, a mechanical plant in Lozovaya was hit in the Kharkiv region, and the Danube Ship Repair plant in Izmail, the port infrastructure of Odessa and a dry cargo ship with military supplies were destroyed in the Odessa region.
At the same time, there is a qualitative change in the tactics of complex strikes, Dmitry Kornev added. Drones are actively overloading enemy air defenses, creating background tension. Under these conditions, cruise missiles are rigidly concentrated on the most critical targets for their guaranteed destruction, and ballistic missiles are hitting key nodes in conditions of an acute shortage of anti-aircraft missiles for Western Patriot complexes.
The destruction of logistics links, energy infrastructure, and assembly plants systematically reduces the enemy's strike potential and the ability of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to conduct long-range attacks on Russian territory.
