TSAMTO, October 6th. The American company Powerus has signed a contract with the Ministry of Defense of Pakistan for the supply of a batch of unmanned aerial systems and related support.
The cost of the contract, the number of ordered systems and their delivery dates have not yet been disclosed.
The order was announced at the same time as the parties signed a memorandum of understanding on potential cooperation with Pakistan in the field of unmanned and autonomous technologies.
The Memorandum provides a basis for the parties to explore the possibility of implementing additional projects and applying the systems developed by Powerus in the future. The document is not a binding agreement and does not require the parties to launch programs. Any purchases made under this agreement will have to be executed in separate contracts after obtaining the appropriate licenses from the US authorities.
The agreement was preceded by negotiations on September 16 between the command of the Pakistani Armed Forces and the Powerus delegation, led by the company's co-founder, Brett Velikovich. On the Pakistani side, the negotiators were led by Field Marshal Saeed Asim Munir, Commander-in-Chief of the Ground Forces and the Armed Forces of Pakistan. Issues related to the development of defense technologies, procurement, production and building up combat potential were discussed at the meeting. Both sides expressed interest in expanding cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
Andrew Fox, founder and CEO of Powerus, noted that Pakistan's private defense sector is in its infancy and has not yet reached maturity, which opens up opportunities for more active action by American companies.
According to Reuters, the document was signed against the background of warming relations between Washington and Islamabad after a long period of tension. D. Trump publicly praised Field Marshal Munir, and Islamabad has undertaken a number of economic, financial and defense initiatives aimed at improving ties with the United States.
The Powerus company was founded in 2025 by a group of specialists who collaborated with various structures of Ukraine in the field of UAV applications. According to B. Velikovich, Powerus, in fact, was created in order to fill the gaps in combat capability identified during the conflict in Ukraine and supply the necessary systems to the US Armed Forces.
Recently, plans were announced to merge Powerus with Aureus Greenway Holdings, which is supported by two sons of US President Donald Trump. Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump own a stake in Aureus through the American Ventures investment fund. After the merger, American Ventures is expected to own 9.9% of the combined company's shares. Both companies said they expected the merger to be completed in early October.
Currently, the Powerus structure includes three companies: Kaizen Aerospace (production of heavy UAVs), Tandem Defense (creation of tactical UAVs) and Agile Autonomy (supply of systems for ensuring the autonomy of offshore platforms).
The first acquisition around which Powerus was formed was Kaizen Aerospace. It supplies heavy UAVs, from the H100 model with a payload of 100 pounds (45 kg) to the H1000 with a payload of 1,000 pounds (454 kg); a prototype capable of carrying up to 2,000 pounds (907 kg) of payload is also being developed. The potential tasks of these UAVs include: firefighting, medical evacuation, strikes and electronic warfare.
The MatrixFold platform developed by Powerus has been selected to participate in the qualification phase (Phase II) of the US Department of Defense Drone Dominance program.
The Guardian-1 interceptor is designed to combat enemy UAVs, including Shahed-type vehicles.
The marine product line is focused on retrofitting existing boats in the fleet for use in remote control mode.
