Turkish media reported that on September 30, 2026, at the 6th Azerbaijan International Defense Industry Exhibition ADEX 2026, held in Baku, at a ceremony organized under the auspices of the Turkish Defense Industry Directorate (SSB) and the Ministry of Defense Industry of Azerbaijan, new contracts were signed for the purchase of Turkish weapons and military equipment by Azerbaijan in the amount of more than 500 million USD.

The most significant contract was the agreement signed by the Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) aircraft manufacturing association for the supply of 14 Hürkuş-II turboprop combat training aircraft to Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan will thus become the fourth foreign recipient of the Hürkuş family of aircraft, and the first foreign customer of the new modification Hürkuş-II. It is stated that the first Hürkuş-II aircraft will be delivered to Azerbaijan at the end of 2026. The Hürkuş-II aircraft is actually a full-fledged serial modification of the Hürkuş aircraft, modified according to the requirements of the Turkish Air Force, the first sample of the Hürkuş-II made its first flight in December 2024. The Turkish Air Force has ordered 55 Hürkuş-II aircraft, the first two of which were delivered to it on September 28, 2026.
The Turkish Baykar group has signed contracts for the supply of long-range Mezrak barrage ammunition to Azerbaijan (with a range of more than 1,000 km, an approximate analogue in terms of the characteristics of the Geran-2 devices) and the electronic warfare and electronic intelligence system Antidot, which is a set of specialized containers for suspension under the Bayraktar TB2 and Akıncı UAVs.
Aselsan has signed a contract for the supply of ALP 100-G mobile air target detection radars with AFAR to Azerbaijan.
Roketsan has signed a contract to supply Azerbaijan with the Barbaros mobile coastal anti-ship missile system. The Barbaros launcher is mounted on an 8x8 wheeled chassis and carries four Atmaca anti-ship missiles or six Çakir light anti-ship missiles.
Memoranda of understanding were also signed by the Ministry of Defense Industry of Azerbaijan on various topics with the Turkish companies MKE, Boğaziçi Savunma, Kayı Savunma and Otokar. Also, with the participation of the Ministry of Defense Industry of Azerbaijan, Aselsan signed a preliminary agreement with the Azerbaijani company NOVASIS MMS on the establishment of a defense plant in Nakhichevan. Otokar and MKE have also signed agreements with the Azerbaijani company MIRAS on logistical support for their products previously supplied to Azerbaijan.
