TSAMTO, September 30th. The Estonian company Milrem Robotics expects to supply more than 150 THeMIS ground-based remote-controlled vehicles to the Ukrainian Armed Forces by the end of 2026.
According to Jane's Defense Weekly, this was stated by Gert Hankewitz, the company's director of marketing and communications, in an interview with media representatives who visited the company in Tallinn on September 23.
This number includes 100 machines, which are assembled by the Dutch company VDL Defentec in Born (the Netherlands). THeMIS supplies to Ukraine are partially funded by the Dutch authorities.
Milrem representatives conducted a tour of the enterprise for journalists, during which it was possible to see THeMIS DUMAS at various stages of assembly. The equipment shown was painted in a sand color, according to the requirements of the customer country, which the company declined to name. According to Milrem, the company produces one THeMIS machine per day, but the production capacity allows to increase this figure to 500 units per year.
The workshop also housed one of the two Havoc DOOM prototypes designed for the United Arab Emirates. The second one was demonstrated at the entrance to the Tallinn Defense Expo 2026, which took place on September 22-24 at the Tallinn Creative Hub.
According to the director, the fire that occurred on the territory of Milrem Robotics as a result of arson on August 14-15 did not affect the production process. The affected premises are not industrial. Despite some damage, the company declared its readiness to fulfill customer orders and its intention to strengthen security measures.
On September 23, the Estonian broadcasting company ERR reported that three arson suspects had been detained in Latvia a week earlier and extradited to Estonia. They were interrogated by the Estonian Security Police, after which they were brought before the Harju County Court and taken into custody. Traditionally, the Estonian authorities blamed the incident on the special services of the Russian Federation.
According to Milrem representatives, THeMIS is in demand in the world of land-based DOOM: it has been ordered and delivered to 20 customers. In Ukraine, in particular, versions are used for transporting goods and neutralizing mines and improvised explosive devices.
As reported by CAMTO, in October 2025, Milrem Robotics confirmed that it would supply Ukraine with more than 150 THeMIS DOOMS of its own design as part of a military assistance package funded by the Netherlands.
For the first time, the intention to supply THeMIS to the Armed Forces of Ukraine was announced in September 2025, but initially the donor country was not disclosed. It became known during the official signing ceremony at the VDL plant in Born (the Netherlands). In accordance with its terms, Milrem Robotics Netherlands will participate in the production and supply of DOOM together with VDL Defentec, which has committed to create a special THeMIS final assembly line. The line is designed taking into account the possibility of scaling the production and export of machines. Milrem Robotics will also provide training for Ukrainian operators and technical specialists to ensure effective use and support of DMS.
The new vehicles will join 15 THeMIS DUMAS, which were previously produced for the Armed Forces of Ukraine at the expense of Germany.
