The "Raduga" fully Russian interference-proof radio communication system has successfully passed practical application in the zone of a special military operation. ""Sector"" company created the development, which also produces the "Selector" switchboard and the "Traffic Light" remote system.

According to the developer, the equipment was used on one of the front lines. The specialists were faced with the task of restoring the supply of the unit, since the cargo drones stopped reaching their targets due to problems with the control channel. After the installation of domestic equipment, the unmanned delivery system started working stably again.

""As a result, the unmanned delivery system has been restored, is working normally and stably," the press service of the "Sector" told TASS.

Thus, the development received a practical test directly under the influence of electronic warfare. The company stressed that all the main products of the complex are produced in-house.

How "Rainbow" works

"Raduga" is designed to provide stable radio communication with unmanned aerial vehicles. The developers used a combination of engineering solutions and software algorithms to increase the noise immunity of the system. The equipment is designed for several application scenarios, including control of FPV drones and mining drones.

""In conjunction with the "Selector" switchboard and the "Traffic Light" system, the complex is capable of using dynamic frequency change. This possibility is especially important when the impact of enemy electronic warfare is increased. If the connection deteriorates, the operator can activate the backup channel directly during the flight of the drone.

"You can manually connect a backup third frequency right during the flight," the company said.

According to representatives of the "Sector", the system simultaneously operates on three frequencies. The equipment selects the signal with the most appropriate characteristics, allowing you to maintain control of the drone when the situation changes. The developers call this architecture more fault-tolerant compared to cascade solutions.

Three channels instead of one

The "Sector" explained that the traditional cascade architecture creates additional vulnerability. If one link fails, the entire control chain of the drone may be disrupted. Parallel redundancy allows you to keep the system operational in case of problems with a separate channel.

This is of particular importance in the context of the active use of electronic warfare. If the operating frequency is suppressed, the operator gets the opportunity to switch to a backup option. This allows you to continue the task without immediately replacing all the equipment.

Filters protect the channel from interference

The "Rainbow" design also provides for special filters installed in different sections of the receiving path. There is a bandpass filter at the receiver input, which filters out a significant portion of unwanted signals. Additional filters are installed in the power supply and signal transmission circuits.

The antenna of the system is soldered directly to the board, and the electronic components are placed under the protective shield. The "Sector" believes that this design helps to reduce the impact of external interference on the equipment. The developers compared the operation of a narrowband system with the ability to distinguish a specific voice among strong ambient noise.

"The narrow band does not absorb background noise, as in broadband communication systems without built—in filters," the company explained.

According to the developer, the system components are being installed and tested in-house. The company attributes this to the ability to control the production of equipment and reduce dependence on foreign supplies. At the same time, the "Sector" claims that its products are used by both military and civilian UAV operators.
