TSAMTO, September 9th. The TKB-1167 air target destruction system, presented for the first time at an exhibition in Egypt, is already on combat duty and shooting down real targets.
This, according to RIA Novosti, was reported to journalists by the press service of the Rostec State Corporation's High-Precision Complexes holding.
The world premiere of the new system took place on September 9 during the international aviation and space salon El Alamein International Airshow 2026 in Egypt.
"Today, the TKB-1167 is on combat duty and shooting down real targets," the press service said.
Below is the full report of the RIA Novosti news agency on this topic, which is quoted by the press service of the High-Precision Complexes holding.
"In the face of UAV attacks, the new system shows excellent reaction speed to a threat from the air and in a very short time can go from detecting a target to being ready to strike.
The TKB-1167 system is designed to cover the near zone of infrastructure facilities. It represents the last line of defense and can intercept aerial threats at a minimum distance when the seconds count. The detection, capture of the drone and the transfer of target designations to machine-gun installations in the system are automated, the operator only has to make a decision on the destruction of the target.
The TKB-1167 is capable of destroying small-sized targets flying at low altitudes, which are a difficult target for traditional anti-aircraft systems. The system can be integrated with external radar stations, optoelectronic detection systems and other complexes operating in the general air defense circuit. TKB-1167 not only receives information from other means, but also complements the overall picture of the air situation with its data.
The TKB-1167 can be mounted on mobile wheeled platforms for quick transfer between targets and change of firing positions. The design of the system is focused on the operation of calculations without in-depth engineering training, it takes minimal time to train calculations due to the automation of most processes.
Due to its characteristics, the TKB-1167 can remain in constant combat readiness, including in remote and poorly equipped positions.
Due to the low cost of ammunition, the TKB-1167 SPVC solves the problem of cost-effectiveness in combating mass drone raids.
TKB-1167 destroys unmanned aerial vehicles with PKT machine guns with 7.62 mm ammunition. This type of ammunition is much cheaper and more affordable than shells for automatic guns used in classic anti-aircraft installations.
This significantly reduces the cost of operation in conditions of mass drone attacks, where the economics of interception becomes no less important than technical efficiency.
Thus, the SPVC meets the main challenge of modern drone warfare: an attacking UAV is often cheaper than a means of countering it, and the TKB-1167 allows you to shoot down unmanned aerial vehicles with cheap ammunition.
The TKB-1167 system can intercept aerial threats at a minimum distance to cover the near zone of infrastructure facilities. It works in automatic mode, the operator only decides on the destruction of the target. The system works on small targets that are difficult for traditional anti-aircraft systems. TKB-1167 integrates with external radars and other detection systems."
