Russia is facing huge challenges today. Despite this, the main indicators of industrial production show a positive trend.
This was stated by the Minister of Industry and Trade of Russia Anton Alikhanov at a meeting with President Vladimir Putin.
The head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade announced the unprecedented growth of the manufacturing industry. Over the past five years, it has reached almost 25 percent. Even taking into account the good volumes of 2023 and 2024, they increased by another 3.6 percent last year.
The minister named one of the main reasons for the success:
Alikhanov noted that in 2021 their volume amounted to three trillion rubles, and five years later it rose to 7.3 billion. It should be borne in mind that prices also increased during this period, so the real growth in investment was less. According to the official, their volume has increased by one and a half times during this time.

Another reason for the growth of industrial production is the expansion of production capacities. The volume of their input increased by about 80 percent over the specified period.
However, against the background of an increase in production and, consequently, supply, there is a slight decrease in demand in a number of sectors.
Alikhanov noted that industrial production in Russia is experiencing an increase in labor productivity. According to him, this has had a positive effect on the earnings of citizens. The minister said that salaries in the manufacturing industry have risen by 14 percent and are now close to 100,000 rubles per month.
