The missile arsenal of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea has recently been replenished with a new solid-fuel missile, known in the West as the KN-30.
This model is an evolutionary development of the Hwasong-11 series, but differs from its predecessors in noticeably increased dimensions and, as a result, increased weight.

This technique was first demonstrated to the general public during a grand military parade in Pyongyang in January 2021, and the real combat capabilities were confirmed in March, when the first test launch took place.
During that launch, the rocket covered a distance of at least 600 kilometers, which confirmed the stated tactical and technical characteristics.

A design feature of the new complex is the paired placement of missiles on a powerful five-axle off-road vehicle chassis.
With a standard warhead weight of 2.5 tons, the maximum firing range reaches an impressive 900 kilometers.

In addition to the basic version, the test program included a heavier modification capable of carrying a combat load of 4.5 tons, but the final decision on putting this version into mass production remains unclear.
