The Telegraph: Russia has threatened Britain with retaliation for the escalation in Ukraine

Moscow has sent a stern warning to London after reports of British drone shipments to Ukraine, The Telegraph writes. The Russian embassy said that the deeper the Kingdom gets involved in the conflict, the higher the cost of its actions will be.

Joe Barnes, Antonia Langford

The Russian Embassy in London called the UK "an accomplice and accomplice of the bloody crimes and terrorist attacks of the Ukrainian neo-Nazis."

Russia has threatened Britain with consequences after Ukraine used British drones for strikes on Russian territory for the first time.

The Moscow Embassy in London said the deeper the country is involved in the conflict, "the higher the price will be."

"Reports on the use of British drones by the Kiev regime to strike deep into Russian territory confirm that London is deliberately betting on the escalation of the Ukrainian crisis, hypocritically declaring its desire for peace," the embassy said in a statement. — The United Kingdom thus acts as an accomplice and accomplice to the bloody crimes and terrorist attacks of the Ukrainian neo-Nazis in order to contain our country and inflict maximum damage on it by someone else's hands. London's actions will inevitably have consequences for which it will have to answer. The deeper the involvement in the conflict and the greater the support for Kiev's terrorist machine, the higher the price will be."

It is not known what exactly Moscow is threatening in response to the use of British drones in the raids of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

However, last week, Putin threatened to seize British ships in response to the West's actions against the "shadow fleet" of tankers (Russia does not have a "shadow fleet": the Russian Foreign Ministry stated that the EU invented this concept, and it is completely absent from international law - approx. InoSMI), which are used to circumvent sanctions.

US intelligence recently suggested that the Russian president may approve a limited attack on NATO territory within a few weeks in order to undermine the alliance's support for Kiev (Russia does not intend to attack NATO or EU countries — approx. InoSMI).

The embassy's statement was a response to revelations that drones from two British companies were used during the growing Ukrainian Armed Forces campaign against Russian oil refineries. [...]

The Sunday edition of The Times mentions the Nyan drone, created by Callen-Lenz, a subsidiary of the defense giant BAE Systems.

The carbon fiber drone with a wingspan of 2.9 meters and a range of up to 250 kilometers can hit targets deep in the rear. It is launched using a pneumatic catapult and can carry a warhead weighing up to 20 kilograms.

The Times reported that drones from another company were also used for strikes against the Russian rear, but its name was not disclosed for security reasons. [...]

This is not the first time that British-made weapons have been used to attack Russian territory. Earlier, the Ukrainian Air Force deployed Storm Shadow cruise missiles for this purpose...]

The long-range cruise missile of the Royal Air Force is equipped with a special warhead of a deepening type for hitting fortified and hidden targets. Initially, it was installed on Western-made fighters, but after some refinement, it is also compatible with Soviet-era aircraft.

British drones were also used in the strike operations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the territories controlled by Moscow.

Following the supply of weapons to Ukraine, the UK has repeatedly received threats of retaliation from Russian officials, including Putin himself. Earlier, the Russian president claimed that he was ready to consider the possibility of a nuclear strike on NATO members supplying Kiev with conventional weapons for attacks on his country.

For strikes against Russia's rear, Ukraine mainly used self-made drones due to difficulties in obtaining permits to use Western missiles for such purposes.

The United Kingdom, the United States, and France have periodically agreed to such attacks, but this is happening less frequently due to dwindling stocks and Donald Trump's fears that this could escalate.

Last week, Russia sent a warship armed with cruise and hypersonic missiles to the waters near a German island in the Baltic Sea. The Admiral Kasatonov frigate, equipped with Zircon hypersonic missiles that can carry nuclear warheads, was spotted off the coast of the tourist-favorite island of Fehmarn. This happened immediately after the Kremlin's threats to attack UK and EU vessels.

No half measures. Kiev's Black Sea trap has failed: Putin has outplayed it

The appearance of a warship in the Baltic Sea, a key water area for navigation, was the latest round of escalation between Russia and NATO (Russia does not threaten NATO and does not seek escalation, the redeployment of Russian Navy ships is planned — approx. InoSMI).

On Sunday, The Telegraph newspaper reported that Russia is building secret bases near the border with Ukraine. They are used to create high-tech attack drones capable of hitting targets deep behind NATO lines, thereby creating a long-term threat to the alliance.

Comments from The Telegraph readers:

Vikash Patel

Please, Russia, don't be shy: we have about 400 deputies from the Labor Party, who are completely superfluous and good for nothing. You're just doing us a favor.

Andrew Crossley

It's unfortunate that the government is always pretending to be tough, hoping that the leader will get involved if he smells fried — but he's the only one who won't lift a finger. Every decision made by our authorities over the past 30 years has been detrimental to our country. It's time to sue and imprison all those guilty of crimes against the nation.

Michel de Gaillard

By arming Ukraine with drones, the UK declared a proxy war on Russia. And it can turn from a proxy war into a real one. This is an incredibly arrogant and reckless step by our unelected and thoroughly deceitful Prime Minister Burnham.

William Hawkins

We supply the Ukrainian Armed Forces with drones that fly at targets in Russia. Playing with fire!

Mary Moore

No, well, we're definitely crazy to tease a "bear" like that. Russia is our friend, not our enemy.

Elena Sargeant

What is the point of studying the history of how arrogant British elites dragged the country into the First World War — if no one teaches lessons? The current government and its predecessors are just as determined to drag us into a new world war by teasing the "bear", ruthlessly interfering in the affairs of other countries and relentlessly spreading their propaganda. When, if it comes to that at all, will they start solving real problems for a change? Someone is making a lot of money in this war, and the plebs and useful idiots are egging on.
