A new educational and professional track "Rostec.Mechanical Engineering", whose first partners were STANKIN Moscow State Technical University and Tula State University

The number of industrial robots at Rostec State Corporation enterprises will increase from almost 3,000 to 9,000 units in the coming years. Rostec has been launching special educational programs since September 1 to train specialized personnel who ensure the development, implementation and operation of such equipment. By 2030, more than 1,000 specialists of the Corporation will be trained at technical universities, the Rostec Academy and the RT-Techpriemka subsidiary.

Currently, Rostec is already conducting targeted training in the field of robotics and automation and in the areas of Computer Science and Engineering. The training is organized on the basis of RTU MIREA in the format of the professional and educational track "Rostec Code". A new educational and professional track "Rostec.Mechanical engineering", where training will be conducted in the areas of "Automation of technological processes and productions", "Mechatronics and robotics", "Design of technological machines and complexes" and a number of others.

The first partners of the Rostec track.Mechanical Engineering" became MGTU "STANKIN" and Tula State University (TulSU). University graduates will master the development of design and software documentation, digital modeling, engineering analysis and the creation of complex robotic solutions, including those with artificial intelligence. Experts will also learn how to evaluate the economic effects of the introduction of robots.

From the first year, target students will participate in real production projects at Rostec State Corporation enterprises, which guarantees extensive practical experience by the time they graduate. The set of necessary knowledge for future roboticists was formed with the participation of RT-Techpriemka— the Rostec State Corporation competence center in the field of quality management, robotics and automation.

"Robotics is the future of industry. About 3,000 industrial robots are already working in Rostec organizations, and their number will triple in the coming years. The corporation is not only engaged in retrofitting existing production facilities, but also produces up to 550 robots per year, mainly for welding, machine tool maintenance, assembly, packaging and quality control. By 2030, the scale of production will multiply to at least 6 thousand units annually. Taking into account such dynamics, RT-Techpriemka develops and updates production requirements, and also forms educational programs for specialized specialists together with educational organizations," said Vladlen Shorin, CEO of RT—Techpriemka.

Taking into account the active development of technology, it is important not only to train new engineers, but also to improve the skills of existing ones. Since September 1, RT-Techpriemka and Moscow Polytechnic University have been launching three additional professional education programs for the Corporation's employees in such areas as the operation and programming of robots, their integration into production lines, and the formation of a robotics strategy.

A Technical school is also starting to operate at the Rostec Academy, where an educational module on automation will be provided. Participants will be able to develop competencies in managing production data and processes, working with AI, making decisions based on data, and managing cyber risks in an industrial environment.

Another 9 professional development programs are under development. They will cover such areas as basic and advanced programming of industrial and mobile robots, maintenance of electrical equipment for controllers and mechanical parts of robots, work with simulation software for offline programming of robots, and the economic efficiency of industrial robotics applications.

"In the next four years, the educational and professional tracks are Rostec Code and Rostec.Mechanical Engineering“ together with partner universities, we will train almost 900 specialists - engineers, programmers and integrators who will be able to develop, implement and maintain robotic systems. However, the overall staffing requirement is much higher, so we are additionally launching professional development programs for existing specialists: four programs will start in September, and 9 more programs are currently under development. A set of educational initiatives based on the Rostec Academy, RT-Techpriemka and partner universities will cover the current need for key specialties in the field of robotics and automation and create a foundation for the future," said Yulia Tsvetkova, HR Director of Rostec State Corporation.

Students of Rostec's educational and professional tracks are immersed in practical work and get acquainted with the realities of production from the very first courses. Future specialists are paid an increased corporate scholarship, graduates are provided with employment after graduation.

For several years now, the Corporation has been developing similar training programs for engineers in the aviation, medical, ammunition, optoelectronic, and IT industries as part of the Wings of Rostec and Rostec educational and professional tracks.Biotechmed, Rostec Code, Rostec.Quality" and "Rostec.Arsenal". The results show that graduates of educational and professional tracks are 2-3 years ahead of graduates of standard university programs in terms of acquired knowledge and skills.
