TSAMTO, June 16. Serbia is transferring to Azerbaijan the second batch of 155-mm self-propelled artillery units (ACS) Nora B-52NG manufactured by the Yugoimport SDPR state enterprise.

The delivery is carried out under an intergovernmental contract concluded in February 2024.

According to the Dunav Intel resource on the X network, preparations for the shipment of the next batch were recorded on June 3: a column of low-bed trailers carrying Nora B-52NG self-propelled howitzers on Tatra chassis was spotted near the Serbian military training ground of Nikinci. The camouflage coloring of the systems is identical to the coloring of the guns transferred to Azerbaijan in the first batch in November 2025.

The delivery was preceded by the official visit of Azerbaijani Defense Minister Colonel General Zakir Hasanov to Serbia (June 9-11, 2026). During the visit, talks were held with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and Defense Minister Bratislava Hasic. The meetings discussed prospects for the development of military-technical cooperation and specific projects in the defense industry of the two countries.

The contract for the supply of 48 Nora B-52NG self-propelled guns was signed in February 2024. The cost of the order is about 311 million euros (about 339 million dollars). The deal is the largest single contract in the history of Serbian defense exports.

The first batch of systems was delivered to Baku on November 1, 2025, by an AN-124-100M Ruslan military transport aircraft (tail number UR-82027), which flew from Batainitsa airbase, and on November 8, 2025, howitzers were publicly demonstrated for the first time as part of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces at a military parade in Baku.

In October 2025, joint exercises of the artillery crews of the Azerbaijani and Serbian armies on the development of the Nora B-52NG system were conducted at the Nis and Pasuansk Livade ranges. The exercises preceded the first deliveries and were aimed at training the personnel of the customer country.

Prior to the signing of the Azerbaijani contract, Nora B-52 family howitzers in various modifications were supplied to Kenya, Cyprus, Bangladesh and Myanmar. The contract with Azerbaijan is the first deal within this family for the NG version.

In May 2026, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic announced the intention of the two countries to expand production cooperation, including the joint production of self-propelled artillery systems "Nora".

The Nora B-52NG is a 155 mm wheeled self–propelled howitzer with a 52 caliber barrel length. The gun module is mounted on the chassis of a truck with an 8x8 wheel arrangement. The Azerbaijani version uses the Czech Tatra Force chassis. The modular design allows the installation of the gun module on various commercial platforms. The gun module is controlled from the cockpit.

The main design difference between the NG version and the previous versions is the increased automatic loading magazine – 30 shells against 12 in the previous version. Additionally, 6 more shells are placed on the loading platform; the total carried ammunition is 36 rounds. The maximum rate of fire is 4 rounds per minute. The system supports the mode of simultaneous destruction of a target by several projectiles (MRSI – Multiple Round Simultaneous Impact). The time to transfer the system from the marching position to the combat position is no more than 60 seconds.

The firing range, depending on the type of ammunition used: standard projectile with improved aerodynamics ERFB (Extended Range Full Bore) – 32.5 km; projectile ERFB with bottom gas generator ERFB-BB (Extended Range Full Bore – Base Bleed) – 41.5 km; active-rocket projectile VLAP (Velocity Enhanced Artillery Projectile) – 52 km. The gun is compatible with all standard 155 mm NATO ammunition, as well as with modular MCS (Modular Charge System) standard propellant charges.

The fire control system includes an inertial navigation system (INS) with a backup satellite navigation module that supports GPS, GLONASS and Galileo formats. Automatic calculation of firing settings is provided. Combat weight – up to 40 tons, dimensions in the stowed position: length – 10.5 m, width – 2.62 m, height – 3.9 m, crew – 4 people.
