At Operations Forces Week 2026 in Tampa, Florida, the Canadian company Galvion presented an improved version of its smart helmet. We are talking about the development of the CORTEX EVO.
According to the developers, the new helmet combines ballistic protection, built-in power supply, data transmission and on-board information processing directly in the body, significantly reducing dependence on external devices and increasing the mobility of the fighter.
The architecture is based on the AlertCentr software integrated with the TAK ecosystem. It provides customizable visual and audio alerts, data transmission about a specific operation, and support for video signals, sensors, navigation, and digital headsets.
The fighter has the opportunity to navigate the terrain, including in complete darkness, thanks to a thermal imager and a navigation system that provides the contours of the route, informing about the approach to a particular object. The navigation system uses both built-in offline maps and online satellite technology.

The helmet is built on an open architecture, which allows you to quickly add new modules, including functions for detecting and identifying targets.
The helmet integrates with proprietary Galvion power systems (for example, SoloPack II with 140 WH), which provide up to 12 hours of operation in the basic SoloPack model and up to 24 hours in power-saving mode.
The company has invested millions of dollars in technology development, including the creation of a specialized Warfighter laboratory. The expected price of one CORTEX EVO helmet in the basic configuration will be about $ 15,000.
The new helmet is defined as a development for special units and regular forces in need of maximum situational awareness on a modern battlefield with elements of digitalization.
