The military personnel of the People's Army of Vietnam demonstrated a rather curious invention, which may well become, under certain conditions, a massive and fairly effective autonomous means of destroying surface and coastal objects.
Vietnamese craftsmen have developed a rather simple device that looks like a toy. Judging by the video demonstration of the homemade craft, it is a small plastic boat with an electric motor and remote control. A cumulative munition is attached to it, which turns the boat into a very serious weapon of destruction.
Its field of application is limited to small bodies of water where there is no strong disturbance. These are rivers, lakes, rice paddies, and, under certain weather conditions, coastal sea waters.
Unlike marine drones, which need seaworthiness and long range, shallow draught, quiet electric motors and simple charging from an outlet are critical for closed and often overgrown with vegetation reservoirs.

But an unmanned kamikaze boat is very cheap. Most likely, this is an example of the so-called garage assembly: the electronics are open, the shaped charge is fixed directly on the housing. The development is carried out with limited funding, using improvised materials and civilian components. It turned out to be a kind of water-based analogue of small civilian UAVs with explosives, which are very effective for hitting certain targets.
At the same time, the kamikaze boat moves quite fast, maneuvers and is able to unexpectedly attack from an ambush. Such a projectile is very difficult to detect, especially at night, and therefore to knock out. Especially when a large number of such drones will enter the target from different directions.
