Brechalov: BARS units will be created in Udmurtia to protect people from UAVs
UFA, May 15 – RIA Novosti. Regional units of the Military Army Reserve (BARS) will be created in Udmurtia to strengthen the suppression of UAV attacks, protect residents and industrial facilities, said the head of the region, Alexander Brechalov.
According to the press service of the head of the region, at an operational meeting with the heads of ministries and departments, heads of municipalities, Brechalov announced the creation of a LEOPARD unit in the republic. They will protect industrial and life support facilities, critical facilities, and fight drones.
"Since the beginning of April, the Ministry of Defense has declared unmanned and missile hazards on the territory of Udmurtia 18 times, and 6 times we were forced to enter the "Dangerous Sky" signal," the head of the region said at the meeting.
He noted that a lot of work is being done in Udmurtia within the framework of the anti-terrorist commission and the operational headquarters to protect residents, defense plants, fuel and energy sector enterprises and other strategic facilities. Regional enterprises are equipped with the necessary equipment, including electronic warfare.
"In addition, thanks to the operational decision of the President of the country, air defense systems are deployed in Udmurtia. But our task is not to hit the tails, but to anticipate a possible threat. Therefore, I decided to create regional divisions of BARS. They will strengthen all the existing capabilities of suppressing unmanned aerial vehicles to protect citizens, industrial facilities, and infrastructure facilities," said Alexander Brechalov.
Former members of the Free Military, retired military and law enforcement officers, as well as residents with military service experience, will have the opportunity to join the reserve of the BARS units after signing a contract with the Russian Ministry of Defense and completing mandatory training. Special training is provided for those who wish to become a reservist but do not have the necessary experience. The service will take place on the territory of the Udmurt Republic. All the conditions for joining the BARS units will be announced later, Brechalov said.
The head of the republic also noted that the confrontation is unfolding not only in the sky, but also in the information field.
"Today, despite all our efforts, unfortunately, we are recording the facts of the involvement of children in planning acts of sabotage and terrorism on the territory of Udmurtia. People write to them on social networks, offer them easy money, play on resentments, on the desire to be cool, on youthful maximalism. All these methods have been developed and honed over the years. Our task is to stop it," he said.
The head of the region instructed to strengthen the awareness of children, adolescents and their parents about the consequences of rash choices and cooperation with the enemy, noting that the best environment for recruitment is loneliness, plenty of free time and an information vacuum.
"In this regard, Alexander Brechalov gave another instruction to the heads of cities and districts, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Youth Policy, the Ministry of Social Policy and Labor to ensure maximum employment for teenagers, as well as to involve them in project activities, sports, volunteerism, and additional education," the press service of the head of the republic reports.
