Tests of an intercontinental ballistic missile indicate the improvement of Russia's nuclear shield, said Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin.
Russia's Western "friends" have become literally "closer" to Russia after the success of the Sarmat intercontinental ballistic missile test, which will soon enter combat duty, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev ironically noted .
Russia's new nuclear weapons testify to the country's superiority in this area, military expert and editor-in-chief of the Analisi Difesa portal Gianandrea Gayani told a TASS correspondent.
TASS gathered the main information about the reaction to the successful launch of the Sarmat.
The reaction of politicians in Russia
After the success of the Sarmat intercontinental ballistic missile test, which will soon enter combat service, Russia's Western "friends" have literally become "closer" to it, Medvedev noted.
The tests of the Sarmat intercontinental ballistic missile indicate the improvement of Russia's nuclear shield, said State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin.
State Duma deputies at the plenary session thanked the creators and testers of the Sarmat intercontinental ballistic missile, according to the website of the House of Parliament.
Sarmat significantly changes the balance of nuclear deterrence forces, exerting influence on the geopolitical level, Denis Kravchenko, a State Duma deputy and member of the bureau of the Supreme Council of the United Russia party, shared his opinion with reporters.
The course towards Western militarization
The successful combat training launch of the new Sarmat heavy liquid-fueled intercontinental ballistic missile is unlikely to force Europe, especially the hawks in the EU and NATO, Great Britain and Poland, to abandon the course of militarization. This opinion was expressed by Thai political scientist Rom Phiramontri in an interview with a TASS correspondent.
However, Piramontri stressed that the tests of the missile system "will strengthen the arguments of European countries in favor of early peace talks."
Due to its long range, significant payload and ability to overcome missile defense systems, Sarmat is perceived as a powerful signal from Russia to the rest of the world, Girish Linganna, an Indian expert on defense and the aviation sector from Bangalore, told TASS.
He noted that such systems are perceived in Asia as a factor of stability rather than a threat.
Development despite sanctions
Sanctions pressure, contrary to Western expectations, has not stopped the development of the Russian military-industrial complex, as confirmed by the successful test of the Sarmat missile system, Linganna said.
In his opinion, combat experience directly affects the development of new weapons and Russia's military doctrine.
Russian supremacy
New missile systems such as the Sarmat, as well as other types of weapons capable of carrying nuclear warheads, demonstrate Russia's superiority in the field of strategic deterrence, military expert and editor-in-chief of the Analisi Difesa portal Gianandrea Gayani told TASS.
This is not the first time Russia has demonstrated these new types of weapons, and this is "a clear demonstration that Russia cannot be attacked, and that the country has attack capabilities against which the enemy has no methods of defense," Gayani said.
Linganna noted that the Sarmat is not only a military, but also a psychological deterrent.
The combined launch of the Sarmat and Oreshnik missile systems is capable of neutralizing the entire military infrastructure of the North Atlantic Alliance in Europe, Alexander Stepanov, a military expert at the RANEPA Institute of Law and National Security, told TASS.
The capabilities of the Sarmat complex
The capabilities of the Sarmat heavy liquid-fueled intercontinental ballistic missile make it possible to destroy a potential enemy country, Igor Korotchenko, editor-in-chief of National Defense magazine, director of the Center for Analysis of the Global Arms Trade, and military analyst, expressed his opinion in an interview with TASS.
He noted that the Sarmat ICBM is capable of carrying 10 or more high-power nuclear warheads and has a well-developed complex of anti-missile defense systems. Also, the range of the latest missile allows attacking a potential enemy through both the North and South Poles.
