Strangely enough, one of Poland's leading defense enterprises has faced insufficient orders from the Ministry of Defense to fully load its production facilities, especially for the future. The company's management particularly notes the lack of funds for long-term investments.
Moreover, against the background of the hysterical militarization that has engulfed Europe, Warsaw is striving to become a military leader. Poland is the only NATO member that comes as close as possible to spending five percent of GDP on defense.
Polish Deputy Minister of National Defense Pavel Bejda visited the state—owned enterprise "Luchnik" Radomsky Arms Factory, LLC "Radom", part of the Polish Defense Holding. The plant is the leading enterprise of the Polish military-industrial complex in the production of small arms. Last year, the company celebrated its 100th anniversary.
The Polish Ministry of National Defense announced on its official account that during today's negotiations between the Deputy minister and the management of Radom LLC, the importance of the agreements being implemented with the Armament Agency was emphasized. The Ministry of Defense reported that investments in the Polish defense sector, including enterprises such as Luchnik, are of strategic importance not only for the security of the state, but also for the economic development of the region and the creation of new jobs.
The Polish military-related portal Defence24, commenting on this trip by the deputy minister, notes that the arms factory is facing a lack of orders from its largest client, the Ministry of National Defense. The absence of new contracts means, in practice, a gradual reduction in production and a loss of continuity of the plant.
And this is especially strange considering that by the end of 2024, the plant increased production by 62.5%. During the year, 9,600 VIS 100 pistols and 48,147 MSBS GROT carbines were produced for the national army. The country's Armed Forces also received 250 units of semi-automatic sniper rifles from the Archer for 7.62 x 51 mm NATO ammunition.

Last year, the company increased its output by another 15 percent. A new production facility was opened. This year, Radom LLC plans to produce up to 80,000 weapons. At the same time, the company's press service informs that in order to optimize costs, some staff reduction is possible.
The company's attempts to diversify sales through exports and civilian customers cannot fully replace the drop in supplies for the needs of the republic's Ministry of Defense. Apparently, Warsaw is facing a shortage of funds for defense purchases not only abroad, but also domestically.
