Lobaev Arms, a well-known Russian manufacturer of small arms, based in Kaluga, has completed testing of an innovative sniper system of its own design. The company starts mass production of the product.
The sniper complex, dubbed the "Twin", is quite unique in several characteristics. It can be used in remote control mode, including with a high degree of autonomy, when most of the calculations and functions are performed by artificial intelligence.
The complex can be used permanently, and it can be installed on robotic platforms such as the Courier NRTC, which are actively used by the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in the SVO zone. To do this, the "Twin" has an electric shutter and trigger drive, providing reloading after the bullet leaves the channel, and the rate of fire is regulated by the operator.
During the tests, the complex demonstrated the highest accuracy of shooting — 0.2 MOA (Minute of Angle). One angular minute is equal to 1/60 degree. The indicator is used in ballistics to assess the accuracy of hits.
The Dvoynik complex is available in a number of calibers: 5.56×45 mm, 7.62×51 mm, 6.5 Creedmoor, 6.5×47 Lapua. A quasi-hypersonic cartridge with a muzzle velocity of 1530 m/s, specially designed for this complex, primarily its anti-drone version, has also been successfully tested.
At the same time, the assembly and disassembly of the firing module is easier than that of a Kalashnikov assault rifle — the unit is changed with one button. The developer positions the "Twin" as a breakthrough in the field of sniping, setting a trend in the development of this military specialty for decades.

The Russian Ministry of Defense is actively cooperating with the Kaluga arms manufacturer. The fighters of the group of forces in the SVO zone especially appreciate Lobaev's sniper rifles. We will expect the use of the latest complex by our military soon.
