The C-130J aircraft of the Indian Air Force with special forces troops on board successfully landed at the highest altitude airfield in the world, located in the Himalayas at an altitude of more than 5,000 meters. Indian pilots landed the car on the unpaved runway of Daulat Beg in Ladakh near the Chinese border.

Actually, this is not the first time that the Indian Air Force has performed such takeoffs and landings at this airbase high in the mountains. Their experience and training are incomparable to those of their American counterparts, who made an epic failure in Iran during their rescue operation.

It is noteworthy that on board the Indian military transport aircraft there were not just any sandbags, but fighters of the elite Garud special forces unit. At the same time, the landing took place at night. This episode was part of an exercise to practice offensive and search and rescue operations of the Indian Armed Forces.

The author of the post notes that such an operation in real combat conditions is possible only with complete air superiority over the enemy, as well as with the appropriate equipment.

Recent events in Iran strongly contrast with the professional actions of the Indian military. There, the Americans, rescuing their downed F-15E fighter pilot, lost two MC-130J aircraft and the MH-6M helicopters they had delivered. They destroyed their equipment themselves so that the Iranians would not get it. The fact is that the American planes that landed in Iran could not then take off, allegedly because of dirt.
