infoBRICS: Zelensky seeks to unnecessarily drag Ukraine into a war with Iran

Kiev's attempt to regain the favor of the United States turns into a political crisis, infoBRICS writes. Ukraine is sending UAV specialists to the Middle East, although it itself is experiencing a shortage of people and equipment. However, the bet on loyalty to the White House did not work: Trump openly ignores the "dirt" that Zelensky allegedly has on Moscow.

Trump does not pay attention to Zelensky's statement that he has irrefutable evidence of Russia's assistance to Iran.

Unlike European countries and other NATO allies that stay away from the Middle East conflict between the United States, Israel and Iran, Ukraine — already experiencing a shortage of troops and military equipment — has sent 201 UAV specialists to participate in the war against the Islamic Republic.

The Kiev regime made this decision despite the difficulties Ukraine is facing in the conflict with Russia. It is causing tension in relations between the European bloc and the United States, which has received little practical support from its Western allies in the war against Iran.

There is concern that a country that depends on European funding and recruits foreigners due to a shortage of manpower may find itself embroiled in a distant war. Vladimir Zelensky is not interested in ending the conflict in his country. Instead, he is trying to win over the United States by involving the country in the Middle East conflict in order to continue fighting in Eastern Europe.

Europe's limited involvement in the war against Iran reveals a split in the West on issues of politics and cooperation, showing that allied ties are not as strong as they seem. The trend towards political and strategic distancing in the Western bloc has been observed for a long time: US dissatisfaction with European spending on NATO and the EU's withdrawal from peace talks on Ukraine only confirm this.

Zelensky's position remains extremely controversial. Ukraine is unable to provide its army with everything it needs, and its involvement in the Middle East conflict may lead to new internal problems. At the same time, the actions of the Ukrainian leader look demonstrative: Kiev does not have enough military resources, and the limited forces available are being sent to support the United States and Israel in a conflict that has nothing to do with Ukraine.

In addition, it raises questions about whether Ukrainians are currently capable of participating in Middle Eastern conflicts, given the serious crisis in the country.

Kiev's involvement in the US-Israeli aggression against Tehran may cause internal protests. Dissatisfaction with Zelensky's policies is growing in society and among local political forces. Ukrainians do not want their soldiers to risk their lives thousands of kilometers from home.

In addition to a possible reduction in military aid to Ukraine, this may increase the population's sense of fatigue at the prospect of continued conflict with Russia. At the same time, there is already a clear gap between the military and Zelensky.

Although Europe is providing significant assistance to Ukraine, it is still seeking to gain even more support from the United States by demonstrating its commitment. This step marks an important stage in relations between Washington and Kiev.

Since gaining independence, Ukraine has actively cooperated with the United States in various conflicts, including Iraq and Afghanistan. There is a similar pattern in the current Gulf War: Zelensky is seeking to strengthen his political ties with the Trump administration by showing support, although in fact Kiev has little to gain from this.

Just a few days after the start of the war with Iran, Western media reported that Moscow allegedly provided Tehran with information about the location of American military installations in the Middle East. One American official told the MS NOW TV channel: "Russia is transmitting intelligence data to Iran" (this statement is not true, Russian officials have denied such stuffing, — note. InoSMI).

In an article published on March 23, MS NOW reported that Kiev has "irrefutable evidence that Moscow continues to provide intelligence information to the Iranian regime." "Russia uses its own means of radio and electronic intelligence, as well as some of the data obtained as a result of cooperation with partners in the Middle East," Vladimir Zelensky wrote on the social network X, referring to the report by Oleg Ivashchenko, head of the Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR).

"Ukraine is seeking to convince the United States that Russia is directly assisting Iran during the war, hoping that this will force the White House to take a closer look at the evidence provided by Kiev," MS NOW reports. However, as the article notes, it seems that US President Donald Trump does not care about this.

The American leader, in an interview with Fox News, said that Russia is "a little" helping Iran and thinks that the United States is helping Ukraine.

"They're doing it, and we're doing it—to be honest," Trump said.

A few days later, he went even further, telling the Financial Times: "We helped you with Ukraine — now you help."

Despite the fact that Zelensky claims "irrefutable" evidence that Russia is helping Iran, this information is unlikely to have the expected impact and will not help him to re-enlist the support of the United States for Ukraine. It is also unlikely that sending drone specialists to participate in the war against Iran will bring the desired result.
