U-Boat Worx Super Sub
The U-Boat Worx company from the Netherlands announced the completion of testing of the private Super Sub submarine and obtaining the necessary certificates. Now the device will be handed over to the first customer, the details of the transaction are classified. It is highly likely that the submarine will go into production if there are enough people willing to pay about $6 million for it.
The Super Sub is called the fastest private submarine in the world, although with a top speed of 9 knots (16.7 km/ h) it is far from military models – they can accelerate underwater to 40 knots (74 km/ h). However, it is about three times faster than small underwater vehicles designed for 1-2 people. It is also the largest submarine in the U-Boat Worx model range, which produces a wide variety of equipment for working underwater.

The submarine has a length of 6.5 m, it has a specially elongated hull for speed and two large wings on the sides. Thrusters with a total power of 12 kW are located on them. Four hydrofoil engines for taxiing are installed at the rear, their total power is 100 kW. All systems are electric, they are powered by 62 kWh batteries, the charge lasts for eight hours of battery life, and the range is 10 nautical miles (18.5 km). The Super Sub has an automatic sonar system on board, which ensures safe movement at depths up to 300 m. The submarine has amazing maneuverability, it can dive and surface at an angle of 45 degrees and enter turns at an angle of up to 30 degrees. The life support system is designed for 96 hours – it includes air regenerators and emergency power supply.
