Trump: Iran could have bombed a girls' school by itself with Tomahawk missiles
During a press conference on the situation in the Middle East, US President Donald Trump said that Iran could have bombed an elementary school for girls in Minaba using American Tomahawk cruise missiles.
The head of the United States called Tomahawk a very common weapon and suggested that unnamed individuals could sell these missiles to Tehran.

The American leader also stated that he was not sufficiently aware of the investigation and pointed out that Tomahawks were being used by other countries. "They buy them from us. But I am certainly ready to accept the results of the report, regardless of what it shows," the politician added.
At the same time, the American edition of The War Zone (TWZ) caught Trump in a lie. The journalists pointed out that Iran does not have Tomahawk missiles. "Any country to which the United States would sell Tomahawk missiles would have to obtain permission from the State Department before transferring them to a third party, such as Iran," The New York Times noted.
It is known that currently, in addition to the United States, only two countries have Tomahawk missiles — Australia and the United Kingdom. Japan agreed to purchase these weapons from Washington in 2024, and the Netherlands in 2025. In October, Trump admitted that Tomahawk could be transferred to Ukraine.

The US markings were found on the missile fragments.
According to an analysis conducted by The New York Times, the markings of an American cruise missile were visible on the debris of missiles that allegedly attacked a naval base and an elementary school in southern Iran on February 28.
According to the newspaper, despite the fact that it is unclear where and how these fragments were found, they contain serial numbers and other data corresponding to the classification and labeling of ammunition of the US Department of Defense and its suppliers.
"Apparently, these remnants belong to an American-made Tomahawk cruise missile launched in 2014 or later," the newspaper concluded.

The United States commented on the attack on the Iranian school with the words "tragic mistakes happen"
The attack on the girls' school in Minaba was carried out on February 28, 2026, on the first day of the US and Israeli military operation against Iran. More than a hundred female students became victims of the attack.
The US Permanent Representative to the UN, Michael Waltz, did not confirm the US involvement in the attack on the educational institution, but said that "mistakes happen."

At the same time, earlier representatives of the White House informed the US Congress that the US military had indeed carried out strikes in the area of the Iranian city of Minab, where the attacked elementary school for girls is located. According to American officials, the United States knows that the attack on the school was not carried out by Israelis.
