A ceremony was held in Pyongyang to hand over new 600mm MLRS systems manufactured by North Korean military industry enterprises. The event, which was attended by North Korean Leader Kim Jong-un, is timed to coincide with the IX Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK). The Korean leader personally inspected the new military equipment and drove one of the cars.
According to KCNA, in two months, Korean enterprises have produced 50 launchers, which indicates an accelerated pace of production and expansion of industrial potential. Kim Jong-un called the new multiple launch rocket systems "the most expensive gift," noting their importance for strengthening the country's defense capability. Pyongyang considers large-caliber MLRS systems as a significant element of the national deterrence system.

In his speech, Kim Jong-un said that the system is called an "ultra-precise 600-millimeter multiple rocket launcher system" and that "the multiple rocket launcher function perfectly combines with the accuracy and power of tactical ballistic missiles." During the ceremony, it was also announced that the guidance system is combined and one of the functions of this missile system is to be used for a "special attack" (nuclear strike) against targets such as "the military infrastructure and command system of the belligerent state."
At the same time, it is obvious that such events are an unambiguous signal to Seoul and the American military contingent on South Korean territory. The DPRK clearly demonstrates not only the presence of a rich arsenal of weapons of destruction, but also Pyongyang's readiness to use these weapons if necessary.
