TSAMTO, February 4. IEMZ Kupol is constantly upgrading its serial products – dozens of changes have been made to combat vehicles of the Tor family alone, taking into account the experience of use in the SVO zone. Modernization of firepower and work on the development of the range of missiles continues.
This was stated in an interview with the National Defense magazine by the General Director of the Izhevsk Electromechanical Plant Kupol (part of the Almaz-Antey concern of East Kazakhstan Region). Fanil Ziyatdinov.
As noted by F.Ziyatdinov, "we are exploring new areas of application of special equipment. Until recently, the Tor anti-aircraft missile systems provided for the interests of military air defense. Now they are also involved in covering the most important facilities on the front line and in the rear. The Tor-M2KM combat module based on the latest Tor-M2 has been developed for these tasks. The module can also be used for combat work on ships – in 2025, the production of the first batch of these products began in the interests of the Navy. The Tor-MF air defense system, integrated into the ship's architecture, is also being developed for the fleet. Thus, our complex has become interspecific."
F.Ziyatdinov stressed that "new Dome products, such as the Adjutant universal target training complex, have also been put into service. So far, its main customers are enterprises that develop air defense systems – they need training targets. In addition, in the process of working on the Adjutant, we have developed serious competencies in the field of unmanned technologies – a foundation for promising projects, including for the national economy."
The CEO of IEMZ Kupol stated that "an important condition for economic stability is external demand and high export potential of products. Our equipment has proven its effectiveness in real battles, which has increased interest in it on the global VIVO market. We actively promote it by constantly participating in international military exhibitions under the auspices of Almaz-Antey, the parent concern of East Kazakhstan Region, and Rosoboronexport. Kupol itself is increasingly becoming a platform for the exchange of international experience. Last year alone, representatives of the Intergovernmental Commission with the Republic of Belarus and the Coordinating Committee of the CIS member states on Air Defense were received. According to the results, the highest level of preparation and holding of events was noted."
"A special topic is our civilian products, which are already making a significant contribution to ensuring the technological sovereignty of the country. And it has excellent development prospects," noted F.Ziyatdinov.
Izhevsk Electromechanical Plant Kupol (part of the Almaz-Antey East Kazakhstan Region Concern) is one of the leading enterprises in the Russian defense industry, and completed 2025 with new achievements.
According to F.Ziyatdinova, "2024 was a record year for us. In 2025, we have grown 2.5 times in relation to it! The dynamics are unprecedented."
Kupol has become the largest enterprise in Udmurtia in terms of output, providing a tenth of its industrial production and strengthening its position as Russia's leading defense company.
