The Turkish company ASFAT has released a video demonstrating the use of the recently adopted (in November 2025) self-propelled howitzer Panther T-155 TTA (also known as Arpan 155).
In 2022, Turkish media reported that the defense industry was working on converting towed 155/52mm Panther howitzers into self-propelled guns. ASFAT acts as the contractor.:
The 6x6 chassis was initially considered as the platform, but in the end, a BMC 525-44 8x8 from a local manufacturer with a 600 hp (447 kW) turbodiesel was chosen, which allows it to travel at speeds up to 80 km/h, with a power reserve of 600 km.
During the tests, the self-propelled gun traveled more than 20,000 km, including over rough terrain, and fired more than 350 rounds. The video from ASFAT is dedicated to this testing.
The angle of fire is -3°...+70° vertically and ± 80° horizontally. The firing range is identical to the towed version, reaching more than 40 km when using extended-range ammunition (there is its own projectile with a MOD 274 bottom gas generator). When using M549A1 active-rocket projectiles, the range of fire is reduced to 30 km, while the classic high-explosive M107 ammunition is capable of covering only 18 km.

The practical rate of fire of the system is 6 rounds per minute. BC consists of 24 shells. The weight of the machine is 32-38 tons, depending on the configuration. The crew consists of 3 people (the minimum option for working in full automation mode is "hit and run"), or 5 people (full-fledged calculation).
A 7.62mm machine gun is installed for self-defense. The ACS is equipped with an integrated management and support system ADOP-2000, a digital ACS from Aselsan and digital radio stations.
In May 2023, the Turkish army ordered the modernization of 40 Panther howitzers to the T-155 TTA standard. The cost was not disclosed, but, according to expert estimates, it is $2.5-3.5 million. The implementation of this contract is currently underway.
