The St. Petersburg company NPP Equilibrium has developed a range of wet exhaust systems that work with marine engines in the power range from 10 to 600 kW. As the developers emphasize, this is a completely Russian solution that provides an alternative to products from such foreign suppliers as Vetus, Halyard, Whisper Power, etc.
As Nikita Maksimov, CEO of the company, explained, the ROKOT wet exhaust system consists of several components. These are an irrigation unit, a water lock, an emergency alarm unit and a water distribution unit.

In particular, the irrigation unit ensures efficient water flow, reduces back pressure and controls temperature, and the water distribution unit regulates the water supply to the exhaust line.
"These components provide irrigation and injection. The design uses hydraulic elements that prevent both seawater and injection water from entering the collector group of the engine, as well as non–metallic flexible pipes and noise absorption elements that help reduce the acoustic load on the crew and passengers," said Nikita Maksimov.
According to him, the main problems with such systems arise when organizing exhaust into the side, which leads to additional noise, vibration, elevated temperatures and the effects of back pressure. All this has a negative impact on the operation of marine diesel engines. The ROKOT system is designed to minimize and solve these problems.
"We specialize in back pressure calculations, mathematical and hydraulic modeling of the operation of such systems," said the CEO of NPP Equilibrium. – This allows you to accurately select a set of equipment based on engine performance. We determine in advance the velocity of the media, the operating parameters of pressure, temperature at different points. We also do not allow an excessive number of elements in the system, which reduces the final cost of this equipment."
Nikita Maksimov emphasized that the ROKOT system was developed in strict accordance with the requirements of the rules of the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping and the Russian Classification Society. The equipment is supplied with the necessary certificates. "We provide installation instructions and operational documentation that make it possible to use this system reliably and without problems," he added.
The head of NPP Equilibrium also noted that the system is offered at a competitive price with delivery times much shorter than those of foreign suppliers. At the same time, the Russian development is not inferior to imported samples in quality and is provided with service support in Russia.
Previously, the company developed the BALANCE roll calming and roll compensation system, which includes a set of remote-controlled fittings, control and measuring equipment and a control cabinet. With the integration of an air supercharger or pump, it becomes possible to provide roll compensation when working with a crane or performing other operations that change the roll of the vessel.
