This technique increases the mobility of infantry on the battlefield.
The training centers of the Russian Ministry of Defense have begun mass training for drivers of buggies, ATVs and motorcycles. Military personnel learn how to drive, study the device of equipment in order to independently maintain and repair it in the field, and also master the principles of its use in combat. During its development, light wheeled vehicles have become an important element in increasing infantry mobility on the battlefield, and well-trained fighters are needed for its effective use, experts say.
They'll help you get away from the drone
Ground Forces training centers have begun to train drivers of off-road motorcycles, sources in the Russian Defense Ministry told Izvestia. They included buggies, ATVs, and motorcycles.

The military masters the equipment and gets the skills to ride it. There are special obstacle courses in the training centers.: high-speed sections of dirt roads, destroyed buildings, etc. Classes are conducted by qualified instructors with experience in using vehicles in a special operation area.
"Currently, the troops are actively introducing light wheeled and motorized vehicles," military expert Yuri Lyamin told Izvestia. — All this is actively used during the special operation. This is a very important element of infantry mobility. Therefore, it is logical that centralized training of drivers of this equipment is now organized. Usually, something is put into practice, and then it is consolidated at the military level. First, motorcycles and ATVs were introduced, and then training centers were created. These are logical and natural processes.

The expert noted that motorized vehicles are used in the combat zone to solve many tasks.
— Buggies and ATVs are used in logistics, for the delivery of various goods, — said Yuri Lyamin. — On motorcycles, fighters carry out lightning-fast assaults. Due to the abundance of drones in the sky, motorcycles have advantages over conventional cars due to their high maneuverability and maneuverability. It's easier to hit a car, but harder to hit a motorcycle or ATV. A buggy or motorcycle driver can maneuver and drive among destroyed buildings or somewhere in the forest, where it is more difficult for drones to operate due to foliage and branches. And with a larger car, you can no longer get through there, it will get stuck.
Light equipment against drones
The use of light equipment on the battlefield is unlikely to lose relevance in the foreseeable future, said military expert Vadim Kozyulin.
"Low—cost tactical drones are dominating the battlefield right now," he explained. — They have seriously changed the tactics of military operations. Heavy armored vehicles are losing the importance they used to have. It is no longer used as the main striking force of armies for major breakthroughs, because it is now being destroyed by cheap drones. Oddly enough, lighter models of vehicles turned out to be more effective — ATVs, buggies, and so on. There has been no mass training in their use until recently.

Military personnel will not only have to learn how to operate such equipment, but also gain tactical skills in conducting modern combat with its help, he noted.
— The military personnel will work out the actions of penetrating the enemy's rear with such equipment in small groups, flanking maneuvers and other skills at the training grounds, — Vadim Kozyulin specified. — They will also have to master the interaction with drones, learn how to use electronic warfare and communications competently. It is important. For example, UAVs can effectively conduct reconnaissance, and air defense drones can cover assault groups from the air from enemy drones.
Fighters on light vehicles will play a significant role on the battlefield until super-effective means of countering drones are found, the expert noted.
— Now it is difficult to say when this will happen, it is possible that soon enough, — he noted. — It is known that laser weapons can work effectively against drones, but they must receive powerful and at the same time compact energy storage devices, which are not yet available. It can also be electromagnetic complexes or homing microbunitions — bullets, for example. Perhaps new electronic warfare systems that can land any device will help clear the sky from drones. It is possible that drones will wage an active war with each other in the sky.

Many countries are currently conducting research and development on countering UAVs, he recalled.
— A lot of options are being worked out, but there is no universal one yet, — Vadim Kozyulin summarized.
Motorcycle companies
The number of light wheeled vehicles is increasing in the army, which requires mass driving training for military personnel. Izvestia reported that separate motorcycle companies had been created in motorized rifle formations. Before going to the front, soldiers undergo a one-month special training course at training grounds. The training program includes the development of assault operations both in forest belts and in urban areas. The fighters study tactical orientation, camouflage, and combat work in conditions of active counteraction to UAVs. Motorcyclists also master overcoming areas of open terrain while maintaining combat order.
Russian troops are now actively using buggies on the front line. They deliver soldiers to their positions, bring ammunition and evacuate the wounded.
Support units use special buggies to transport fuel and refuel, Colonel Vladimir Demirov, head of the Rocket Fuel and Fuel Department of the Russian Defense Ministry's resource support department, told Izvestia.

In addition, buggies are actively used by snipers in combat operations. In them, the shooters move to the front line for combat work.
Military medics use buggies on the front line to evacuate the wounded from the front line, deliver medicines and other important supplies.
Izvestia reported that the curriculum of combined arms military universities included classes on practicing actions using motorcycles and ATVs. As part of the course, future officers study the tactics of using light equipment, including controlling motorcycles and ATVs in conditions of active enemy use of various types of UAVs.
