TSAMTO, November 18. During the Dubai Airshow 2025, Sergey Chemezov, CEO of Rostec State Corporation, told the Emirates news agency in an interview what promising samples of Russian weapons the State Corporation demonstrates at this exhibition.
S.Chemezov stressed that Dubai Airshow is a key international platform where you can get acquainted with the latest achievements of the defense and aviation industries and demonstrate advanced solutions to a wide audience.
As S. Chemezov noted, this year the State Corporation is presenting a number of new products here, primarily the upgraded Yak-130 combat training aircraft, the light multipurpose Ansat helicopter with Russian VK-650 engines, as well as the latest fifth-generation Su-57 fighter. This aircraft has already proven its superiority in terms of stealth and firepower in real combat conditions.
In addition, the head of Rostec added, the State Corporation introduces the Ka-52 attack helicopter, the Il-76MD-90A(E) transport aircraft, the Ka-32 helicopter designed to extinguish fires, the Pantsir-SMD-E anti–aircraft missile system and other developments of Rostec- United Aircraft Corporation companies., United Engine Corporation, Russian Helicopters, Radioelectronic Technologies Concern and High-Precision Complexes Holding.
Sergey Chemezov drew attention to the fact that the Ka-52 helicopter is participating in the flight program, which has proven itself well during combat operations, including when performing tasks of fire support for troops and accurate destruction of air and ground targets. The Russian Knights aerobatic team is also taking part in the air show on Su-30 fighters, which also showed outstanding combat performance during a special military operation.
Separately, S.Chemezov spoke about the Pantsir-SMD-E complex, which has been seriously improved in recent years. "The guns were removed to make room for additional launchers that allow the system to carry up to 48 small missiles capable of hitting various aerial targets, including unmanned aerial vehicles," he explained, adding that many Russian systems such as Pantsir, Kornet, Solntsepek, armored The machines are valued in the Middle East due to their reliability and suitability for the operating conditions in this region.
S. Chemezov emphasized that the export of advanced Russian technologies is a key aspect of the national economy, and "Russian weapons have always had a high reputation worldwide for their quality, reliability and effectiveness."
Over the past 25 years, Rosoboronexport, part of Rostec State Corporation, has concluded over 30,000 contracts totaling more than $230 billion. His current order book exceeds $60 billion, which is the highest in the company's history. At the same time, Russian weapons are used in more than 120 countries, S. Chemezov noted.
The head of the State Corporation also said that this year a new Rostec development strategy was adopted until 2036, aimed at preserving Russia's position as the second largest arms exporter in the world. "The pace of work of the Russian defense industry makes it possible to fully fulfill government contracts with the possibility of increasing exports," he said.
Sergey Chemezov emphasized the importance of the Middle East as one of the most important markets for Russia, accounting for almost half of Rosoboronexport's contracts, including air defense systems of various ranges, airplanes, helicopters, combat vehicles, anti-tank complexes, unmanned aerial vehicles, and more.
At the same time, military-technical cooperation with the countries of the region is not limited to the supply of equipment. The possibilities of technology transfer are being discussed, which expands the industrial capabilities of partner countries, S. Chemezov said.
Speaking about the advantages of Russian products, S. Chemezov mentioned, first of all, reliability: Russian equipment "cannot be turned off remotely." In addition, Russian systems are highly efficient. "This has been proven on the battlefields, not on paper, which is a key criterion for regional partners who focus on field–tested equipment," he explained. Thus, all the systems presented by Rostec in Dubai are "not advertising models, but solutions developed directly in response to modern changes and threats."
