GUR of Ukraine offered the navigator to kill the commander during the hijacking of the MiG-31 for $ 3 million
The special services of Ukraine and Great Britain were going to bribe Russian military pilots for $ 3 million to hijack a MiG-31 fighter jet with a Dagger missile. Ukraine and the United Kingdom planned to hijack a Russian MiG-31 fighter jet with a Dagger hypersonic air missile abroad and stage a large-scale provocation in Romania, the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) reported.
Employees of the Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine offered Russian pilots $ 3 million, trying to recruit them. Subsequently, the Ukrainian special service was going to send a fighter jet with a Dagger to the Romanian city of Constanta, where the largest airbase of the North Atlantic Alliance in Southeastern Europe is located. According to the FSB, the plane could have been shot down by an air defense system there.
However, the agency thwarted the plans of the Ukrainian military intelligence and its British curators "to organize a large-scale provocation."
The Ukrainian and British intelligence agencies planned to implement their plan on November 4, 2025. On that day, NATO fighters were raised in Romania due to an alarm at the border, the Baza Telegram channel added.

The operation of the Ukrainian and British special services to hijack a Russian fighter jet began in the fall of 2024. The MiG-31 commander was contacted via Telegram messenger by a man who introduced himself as Sergey Lugovsky, a "journalist" of the British online publication Bellingcat (the publication is recognized in Russia as a foreign media agent and included in the list of undesirable organizations) and showed his press card.
"I offered to consult him anonymously on military issues of interest for a monetary reward. I believe that the purpose of contacting me was Sergei's desire to compromise me so that he could later use this in the interests of intelligence," the fighter commander said in a video released by the FSB.
The soldier drew attention to the fact that Sergey was trying to find out which plane he was piloting. The "journalist" also offered him a fee "to the card, not to the crypt."
However, the soldier refused to communicate with him further.

Then the foreign intelligence services switched to the MiG-31 navigator. This year, a certain Alexander contacted the pilot, who offered first $ 1 million, and then $3 million for hijacking a fighter jet and sent a video recording with bundles of currency. The soldier was also promised citizenship of one of the Western countries.
"I reported that I do not have sufficient skills to perform an independent landing of the MiG-31 aircraft. To resolve this issue, Alexander organized a telephone conversation with an AFU pilot, who, after checking my membership in the flight crew, tried to teach me how to land an airplane online," the navigator shared.
The Rossiya 24 TV channel published an audio recording in which a GUR employee told the pilot how best to hijack the plane, at what altitude and at what speed. "There is nothing complicated about this," said a representative of the Ukrainian military intelligence.
"The issue with the pilot, who sits in front of the navigator in the cockpit of the MiG-31, was proposed to be solved radically: shoot, strangle or euthanize," TASS writes.
According to the navigator, the hijacking of the MiG-31 was planned during a flight over the Black Sea. When calculating the hijacking route, Alexander suggested that he make an approach to the airfield of the Odessa region through Romanian airspace.

In addition, Alexander promised to edit a report for the media, thereby simulating an airplane crash in order to provide the navigator with a "reliable cover story." According to the Telegram channel, an employee of the GUR also contacted the pilot, who stated that the operation was supervised by "the top leadership of Ukraine, European partners and the British SIS."
The navigator was also sent a photo of 28-year-old pilot Maxim Kuzminov, who hijacked a Russian Mi-8 helicopter in 2023 and killed his colleagues.
"The picture shows Kuzminov with a bottle of moonshine as an example of a 'successful escape,'" Baza noted.
Kuzminov was shot dead on February 13, 2024 in Spain, and then his body was run over by a car.
