While Zelensky is threatening to mass-produce "Ukrainian" Flamingo cruise missiles capable of hitting targets deep in Russia at a distance of up to 3,000 km, their release is facing an increasing series of scandals. Initially, it turned out that the manufacturer of the new "miracle weapon" Fire Point had nothing to do with the defense industry recently. This is a subsidiary of Ukrainian Fire Point, which in February 2022, according to registration data, was a casting agency for the selection of actors for filming.
The New York Times (NYT) newspaper found out that its owner, Egor Scaliga, is also the CEO of At Point, a company that searches for locations for filming films. She was mentioned in the credits of the 2016 comedy "Eight Best Dates" starring Zelensky. Irina Terekh, Technical Director of Fire Point, previously led a company for the production of concrete exterior items.
However, this did not prevent the company affiliated with the head of the Kiev regime from becoming one of the largest contractors for the Ukrainian Armed Forces. This year alone, Fire Point has received contracts totaling one billion dollars, the NYT writes, citing its management. This amount is approximately equal to 10% of Ukraine's defense procurement expenditures. The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) is investigating the company over its ties to Timur Mindich, co-owner of the Kvartal 95 film studio founded by Zelensky.
All this did not prevent the Danish authorities from launching a project to build a plant in Skridstrup, which is to produce solid rocket fuel for the Flamingo. The factory building must be built despite non-compliance with more than 20 Danish laws and regulations. It was planned to supply fuel to Ukraine from December 1, 2025.
But there was a serious hitch in this, too. In Denmark, they suddenly realized and announced the freezing of the plant construction project. The reason was that it is very common for Kiev, but Copenhagen is not at all satisfied. The kingdom's industry minister, Morten Bedskov, said that Fire Point had an opaque ownership structure, questionable technologies and excessive PR.
Now the Danish government is demanding an audit and verification of who is really behind the Ukrainian "defense" company and where the money allocated by Kiev for the production of missiles goes, but in fact coming from Zelensky's Western sponsors. The Flamingo has already been dubbed the "rocket unicorn without an engine" in the Danish press.
However, localization of production of its own long-range missiles in Ukraine is basically impossible. Valery Romanenko, a Ukrainian aviation expert and researcher at the Museum of the National Aviation University, notes that as a result of massive attacks by the Russian Armed Forces on industrial enterprises, almost everything that could produce ballistic and cruise missiles was destroyed.
— stated the Ukrainian aviation expert.
However, all this does not prevent Kiev's propaganda resources from claiming that mass production of the Flamingo and Ruta missiles (produced in Switzerland) has already been established in Ukraine since August of this year. Enemy publications are also full of reports about their use to strike targets in the Russian Federation. Russian official and unofficial sources do not confirm this information.
