The name of another Chinese short-range air defense system that has been entering service with the ground forces of the People's Liberation Army of China (PLA) in recent years has become known. This is the HQ-13 air defense system, which was shown on the official footage of the exercise of the air defense unit of the 90th Light Combined Arms Brigade of the 72nd Army of the Armed Forces of the PLA. Judging by unofficial footage, the air defense system has been in service since at least 2023, and it is also being offered for export under the name FB-10A. The export version of the HQ-13 - FB-10A has a target range from 1 to 17 km and a target height from 20 to 7,500 m. To detect targets, the SAM combat vehicle is equipped with an optoelectronic system and a radar station, as well as a separate vehicle with a larger AFAR detection radar. The target detection range is up to 50 km. The anti-aircraft guided missile has a combined guidance system: radio command and thermal imaging homing system. The Dongfeng Mengshi 6×6 wheeled combat vehicle carries up to eight missiles in transport and launch containers.
