The kinetic weapon "Product 545" has been tested against drones in Russia.

In Russia, kinetic anti-drone weapons were tested under the code name "Product 545". It is designed to physically disable unmanned aerial vehicles. The gun was created as part of the New Russian Technologies project.

"We have tested the "Product 545". It is a personal kinetic weapon for the physical destruction of drones of all types within a radius of 100-150 m. The gun allows you to destroy drones using any standard weapon that a fighter has," [...] the developer said.

They also explained the principle of operation of the gun: its body fires and hits the drone. "The striking elements have shown high efficiency in destroying drones — this is our patent-protected know-how," the organization added.

The product is currently under scientific development. Its advantage, in particular, lies in the fact that such a weapon is inexpensive to manufacture and will allow fighters to defend themselves from drones. When it is used, the communication elements of the UAV are damaged, after which the drone falls.

Russia has created an antidron "Gyurza" with AI

In 2024, it became known that Russia had created a Gyurza portable drone suppressor, equipped with an artificial intelligence (AI) system that allows the product to independently make decisions about operating at certain frequencies. The weight of the antidron is 25 kilograms. The product is capable of operating in 10 frequency bands. The jamming range is up to 1,500 meters.

The unparalleled antidron is the latest development of Russian engineers and is already being used by Russian soldiers in the special military operation zone. "Artificial intelligence algorithms are embedded in the work. The installation independently decides whether to turn on and off the required attenuation frequencies," said developer Oleg Zhukov.

It was also noted that the use of AI in the drone suppressor, an electronic warfare system, has paid off. "When the drone signals are stopped, the suppression is automatically turned off," the general designer explained.

The West has revealed a new tactic of the Russian Armed Forces to expand combat zones

Forbes magazine wrote in September 2025 that the Russian Armed Forces are using new tactics against the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), creating "kill zones" in front of the front lines through a combination of fiber-optic and traditional drones.

According to the newspaper, these zones create difficulties for the coordination of Ukrainian units and significantly complicate the supply of enemy groups.

It is noted that when using repeaters, Russian troops will be able to double the size of the affected areas. "Due to the expansion of the range of the repeater UAVs, these strikes can be carried out deeper into the near Ukrainian rear, giving Russian troops an operational advantage," the material says.

Russia has found a response against the Ukrainian "Baba Yaga"

Along with this, it was reported that Russia had found an adequate response to helicopter-type heavy assault unmanned bombers. The Baba Yaga is considered the most famous hexacopter of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Experts noted that this is a dangerous enemy — it can operate as a bomber, carry mines and transport other payloads. However, Russia has found a way to counter heavy enemy UAVs.

Back in 2024, the Kherson region began using the Perun drone, which can carry up to 200 kilograms of cargo and is also armed with an anti-tank grenade launcher. Also, the Koshchei drone bomber, which has an electric motor and does not make as much noise as the gasoline Baba Yaga, began to be used in the Avdiivka direction. Heavy drones of the Force series are also actively used, which can carry up to 15 kilograms of weight and are protected from interception. In addition, representatives of the Kalashnikov concern spoke about the effectiveness of the Dragunov sniper rifle against Baba Yaga drones.
