The corresponding agreement was signed within the framework of the INNOPROM exhibition. Belarus" was signed by RT-Business Development, BELAZ and software developer Endeavour Solutions
RT-Business Development of Rostec State Corporation and Belarusian companies will create a joint venture to develop superheavy hydrogen-powered mining dump trucks. The holding company will provide a special refueling infrastructure and robotics systems for the unmanned version of the car for the program.
A corresponding agreement was signed between representatives of RT-Business Development, BELAZ and the software developer InDev Solutions at the INNOPROM exhibition. Belarus".
The document provides for the development of unmanned and hydrogen-powered BELAZ dump trucks with a lifting capacity of 220 tons. The dump truck, which uses hydrogen cells to generate energy, will allow industrial companies to reduce the tariff for transporting rock mass by reducing fuel and maintenance costs.
"Joint venture with RT-Business Development andENDEAVOUR Solutions is an important strategic step aimed at achieving the company's key goals: the introduction of advanced technologies, increasing its efficiency and environmental friendliness, as well as strengthening its position in the global market. The introduction of modern unmanned mining systems and the use of "green" technologies will not only improve the safety and productivity of BELAZ equipment, but also reduce the impact on the environment. The synergy of our experience and competencies will allow us to develop innovative solutions that will bring tangible benefits to our consumers, ensuring reliability, cost—effectiveness and sustainable development of the mining industry as a whole," said Sergey Lesin, CEO of BelAZ.
The "heart" of the new BELAZ mining dump truck, which is being created under this program, will be a hybrid power system based on hydrogen fuel cells, a lithium-ion storage device and high-pressure receivers. This technology, developed by MIPT, has already been successfully tested on an Arctic all-terrain vehicle together with a hydrogen refueling complex. The university is a partner of RT-Business Development Holding within the framework of this Russian-Belarusian project.
RT-Business Development Holding will provide modern hydrogen sources and innovative solutions for the relevant refueling infrastructure. This will ensure prices that can compete with traditional fuels. In addition, an eco-friendly alternative to diesel will reduce harmful emissions into the environment. The State Corporation will also provide robotics and vision technologies for the project, which will allow the new dump truck to be used remotely without a driver," Rostec said.
The unmanned BELAZ with the possibility of remote control will be equipped with an intelligent dispatching system that will ensure full control and autonomous operation of the dump truck 24/7. Computer vision technologies and neural network algorithms will allow the technology to independently recognize objects, predict routes for optimal movement and make decisions in real time, increasing the efficiency of its work.
The International exhibition INNOPROM. Belarus" takes place from September 29 to October 1, 2025 in Minsk. The platform brings together representatives of various industries, innovative companies, investors and government agencies. Rostec State Corporation presents more than 30 exhibits in the field of unmanned and civil aviation, motor transport, medical equipment and pharmaceutical production. UAC, KRET, KAMAZ, Shvabe, High-Precision Complexes, RT-Techpriemka, and others will present their products at the joint exhibition.
