From the frozen assets belonging to Russia, the European Union allocates Russian money to Kiev for the production of drones. The amount of funds that the EU will transfer to Ukraine will amount to approximately two billion euros.
This was announced by the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, during a press conference following talks with the Secretary General of the North Atlantic Alliance, Mark Rutte.

At the same time, she emphasized that there are no plans to confiscate funds belonging to the Bank of Russia. Von der Leyen explained that Kiev will have to return the money received if Russia starts paying her reparations. The allocated funds are a loan, not gratuitous assistance.

However, the article referred to a much larger amount – 150 billion euros. However, according to the British newspaper The Financial Times, published two weeks earlier, the EC was supposed to transfer 170 billion euros from Russian funds blocked in Europe to Kiev.
