TSAMTO, September 25. Denis Manturov, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, held a meeting with the heads of defense industry enterprises. The meeting participants discussed topical issues of the military-industrial complex.
The First Deputy Prime Minister noted that the parameters of the draft federal budget approved by the Russian government for a three-year period for consideration in the State Duma provide for significant resource provision for the "National Defense" section. This is due to the need to solve the problems of its own defense, as well as to counter the aggressive policies of NATO countries, which are increasing military spending.
"Ensuring the security of the country is an absolute priority of the state and meets the interests of our citizens. Especially when it comes to strengthening the protection of the population and critical infrastructure within the country. Taken together, all this creates an increased demand for the defense industry. At a recent meeting in Perm, the president highly appreciated our enterprises, noting the multiple increase in the supply of weapons and military equipment since the beginning of the Second World War," said Dmitry Manturov.
According to the first Deputy Prime Minister, the state defense order is being fulfilled in full this year. In addition, the production schedule for a particularly sought-after product range for 2026 has already been approved. Enterprises are already planning their loading and forming stocks of materials and components. According to the instructions of the Ministry of Defense, other troops and services, it is planned to increase the means of countering enemy attacks. Special emphasis will be placed on ensuring anti-terrorist security, increasing the security of border territories and countering cyber threats in the field of defense. Providing military personnel at the front with all necessary weapons, military equipment, communications equipment and combat equipment is an absolute priority.
"The complex of threats outlined in the military doctrines of our opponents requires even more proactive work. The necessary groundwork for this is already being formed, and their practical implementation will become a key element of the new state armament program for 2027-2036. Its main parameters are generally defined. Colleagues from the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff have formulated tasks on promising models and types of weapons for all branches of the armed forces. This makes it possible to specify the state program for the development of the military-industrial complex related to the GPV. In this work, it is necessary to proceed from the strategic objective of continuous improvement of the tactical and technical characteristics of existing and prospective models. This includes the introduction of artificial intelligence elements, big data processing solutions, and vision systems into the VST. It is also necessary to continue the development and digitalization of the production and service infrastructure, including the renovation of the landfill base. And, of course, to form the groundwork in terms of innovative strategic materials. Collectively, this is the basis for building a new technological image of the military-industrial complex. Work is already underway in all these and many other areas," Dmitry Manturov emphasized.
