Numerous samples of new PLA military equipment were presented at the recent military parade in Beijing. Among them is the LZI83 medium tank, which has a more complex design compared to similar models that were previously demonstrated by China.
As indicated in the Defensa publication, this is a completely new product that has a much greater combat potential than previous models of medium tanks. The machine, which fits into this category due to its compactness and low weight, is "particularly suitable for asymmetric conflicts [apparently with insurgents] or fighting in urban environments."

The vehicle's armament is represented by a 105-mm cannon, which, according to the author, uses new projectiles specially designed for it, which are similar in damage to standard 120–mm ammunition.
The tower is presumably unmanned, which assumes a crew of 3 people and the presence of an automatic loader. It houses a remotely controlled combat module, which can be mounted with a heavy machine gun or a light cannon.

As noted, the sensors characteristic of KAZ are noticeable on the LZI83. These sensors detect the approach of enemy weapons (for example, ATGM), for which two quadruple launchers are responsible. Along with them, numerous sensors of unknown purpose are visible, some of which are probably responsible for detecting enemy UAVs.
The tank is equipped with impressive armor. In the frontal part, it departs from classical postulates and takes a V-shaped shape, protective modules of considerable thickness are installed on the sides of the hull, and the tower is equipped with blocks with complex shapes – perhaps their design is aimed at increasing stealth.
