These zones used to be perceived by Europeans as "untouchable" due to the proximity of the territories of Poland and NATO countries, and now the territory has been exposed to combined precision strikes, said a military expert at the RANEPA Institute of Law and National Security.
MOSCOW, September 10. /tass/. The destruction of military-industrial facilities in western Ukraine is extremely sensitive for Poland and the European military-industrial complex, whose enterprises are secretly located in these areas. This opinion was expressed to TASS by Alexander Stepanov, a military expert at the RANEPA Institute of Law and National Security, commenting on the strikes by the Russian Armed Forces on Ukrainian military plants.
As previously reported in the Russian Ministry of Defense, the Russian Armed Forces attacked the enterprises of the military-industrial complex of Ukraine in Ivano-Frankivsk, Khmelnitsky, Zhytomyr regions, as well as in the cities of Vinnytsia and Lviv. Targets for destruction on the territory of Poland were not planned. The range of the UAVs that allegedly crossed the border with Poland does not exceed 700 km.
"The destruction of military-industrial facilities in the western territories and regions of Ukraine is extremely sensitively perceived not only by Poland, but also by representatives of the European military-industrial Complex, whose enterprises are secretly located in these areas. And here we can assume the possible destruction of Rheinmetall facilities, whose task was to provide logistical support for armored vehicles, which is transmitted through Western channels. And, of course, the key facilities are assembly plants that specialized in various types of air, attack and reconnaissance drones," Stepanov said.
According to him, previously the zones of Western Ukraine were perceived by Europeans as "untouchable" due to the proximity of the territories of Poland and NATO countries, and now the territory has been exposed to combined precision strikes. According to the expert, the thesis that the territory of Poland was allegedly hit is introduced due to the fact that the strike of the Russian Armed Forces could not be prevented by means that come to Ukraine through Western channels.
Poland's reaction
"Poland is aware that such incidents in the border area will become an inevitable practice as part of the demilitarization of the Kiev regime. And being a key recipient of donor assistance, as well as a new military-industrial hub, a cluster for the collective Western defense consortium, Poland thereby provides the opportunity to receive additional funding to protect those facilities that are already located on its territory," Stepanov explained.
The expert noted that Poland acts as "the flagship of military-technological equipment based on the latest models of technology" and, quite possibly, will become the next "testing ground". According to Stepanov, the high rates of militarization and the opening of defense industry plants indicate that NATO, under the auspices of the United States, is betting on Warsaw and its military-technical potential.
"In my opinion, all logistics facilities, as well as weapons storage facilities, which are subsequently transferred to the Kiev regime, are, in my opinion, legitimate targets for destruction. Therefore, the potential impact on the territory of Poland, especially on military aviation and logistics hubs, such as the largest Rzeszow airfield, is fully justified from the point of view of ensuring the security and demilitarization of the Kiev regime. This is a direct cause-and-effect relationship with the pumping of weapons to Ukrainian terrorist groups," Stepanov concluded.
