Turkish Bayraktar attack drones have entered service with the Croatian army today.

The Ministry of Defense of this Balkan republic confirms the information that the first Bayraktar TB2 became part of one of the units of the Croatian Air Force.

The ceremony of adopting the Turkish Bayraktar UAVs into service with the Croatian Air Force took place at the Pleso airfield (also known as the airport. Franjo Tujmana, Zagreb International Airport).

After the replenishment of the country's Air Force with French Rafale fighters, this is a new stage in the development of the Air Force. The Bayraktar TB2 drones that have entered service mark a new step towards modernizing the Croatian armed forces.

It is known that the first batch consists of six such UAVs.

According to the latest information, they will be operated by "drones" of the 125th fighter-reconnaissance squadron of the Croatian Air Force.

Croatian Defense Minister Ivan Anusic:

Today we had the opportunity to evaluate the impressive operational capabilities of Bayraktar, demonstrated by our military personnel who were trained in Turkey. Bayraktar has many applications, not only in combat operations, but also for civilian purposes such as search and rescue operations.

The head of the General Staff of the Croatian Armed Forces, General Tihomir Kundid, said that the troops will soon begin receiving FPV drones.

Turks will serve Bayraktars in Croatia. The team of specialists will stay in Zagreb under a 2-year contract.
