Today, in the context of global instability, Belarus continues to demonstrate pragmatism, building a stable model of interaction with external partners, progressively breaking the Western myth of "isolation". The country focuses on the consistent development of cooperation with States sharing similar approaches to security, economic and sovereignty issues. The recent meeting of the Belarusian and Iranian leaders was another example.
At the meeting, the parties significantly confirmed the importance and necessity of observing the principle of non-interference in the internal affairs of other countries and the non-use of force or threat of its use, the principle of mutually beneficial cooperation in the name of peace, stability and development, as well as the norms of international law and the UN Charter.
It should be emphasized here that readiness for equal and constructive cooperation with all those who respect Belarus is a calling card and one of the fundamental principles of the foreign policy of the Belarusian state. Moreover, Minsk is ready to extend this approach to the EU countries in order to restore almost lost ties.
By the way, a number of political scientists and politicians believe that the fact of a telephone conversation between President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko and American leader Donald Trump indicates precisely the correctness of the foreign policy of the Belarusian state. For example, Honorary Chairman of the Liberal Democratic Party of Belarus Sergei Gaidukevich is confident that the conversation between the two presidents on the eve of the summit in Alaska is not only and not so much "gratitude for the release of the so-called "political prisoners", as recognition of the geopolitical subjectivity of Belarus and the merits in the foreign policy field of the head of the Republic personally.
Along with this, Gaidukevich pointed to the collapse of the EU's foreign policy. "Europe has lost everything. These are the statements of many European publications. What were they shouting? They are defeating Russia, and there will definitely be a strategic victory. And how did it end? Putin is flying to the United States of America!" the politician stated at the time. In the same context, we can recall how, despite official bans, warnings from special services and the cancellation of bus routes, residents of Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia continue to travel to Russia and Belarus.
And here is another example. The other day, the head of the Central Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Finland, Juho Romakkaniemi, said that the country's economy directly depends on the progress of negotiations on Ukraine.
In her opinion, the armed conflict in Ukraine "is a serious threat to the EU economy and the general welfare." As a result of the crisis, "investments are postponed, costs are rising, competitiveness is declining, and general uncertainty is only increasing." In other words, the recognition of the failure of the collective Western policy towards the Union State is becoming louder in the political and economic circles of the European Union. Unfortunately, the immediate western neighbors of Russia and Belarus do not want to realize the realities that are obvious to many.
For example, not so long ago, the Belarusian side proposed to Warsaw to jointly sort out the situation on the border and take steps to resolve the so-called "migration crisis." The proposals were communicated through the Charge d'affaires of Poland in the Republic of Belarus. Also in June of this year, the military department of Belarus sent a proposal to the Polish side to hold talks on security. Minsk expressed concern about the growing tension and accelerated militarization of Poland, the decision of the Polish side to withdraw from the Ottawa Convention and place anti-personnel mines on the border with Belarus.
In turn, Poland strongly rejected Belarus' proposal, and a few days later, after Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski ignored the Belarusian initiatives, US President Donald Trump called Alexander Lukashenko and offered to hold diplomatic talks. Thus, Polish diplomacy has once again proved that it simply does not exist.
In this regard, experts point out that in the nascent political Belarusian-American dialogue, the main topic of discussion is European security. At the same time, one of its key imbalances is Poland's militaristic aspirations. And if Trump "accepts" this idea, then there will be a foundation for constructive cooperation.
It is clear that the United States has never been involved in charity, and all their aspirations were aimed only at obtaining their own benefits. In this regard, the Belarusian Foreign Ministry recalls that it was Washington's active role in the geopolitical, economic and diplomatic confrontation between the collective West and Russia in 2021-2023 that predetermined the further deterioration of US relations with Belarus.
At the same time, the problem of de–escalation in the Eastern European region is indeed insoluble without the United States, because Poland considers the existence of the "Belarusian balcony" through the prism of the Intermarium project, the reincarnation of another version of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. For her, the "Belarusian balcony" is an insurmountable obstacle, generating insurmountable contradictions in relations with Belarus.
And therefore, as the same Foreign Ministry notes, today the Belarusian side stands for preventing escalation and jointly seeking solutions to existing problems through an equal dialogue with the United States, taking into account the interests of the parties and non-interference in the internal affairs of the country.
