Recently, there have been more and more messages and video evidence online, often of very good quality footage, of the use of Iskander missiles by the Russian Armed Forces to strike enemy military targets. Well, it's certainly not the Chinese, Iranians or North Koreans who supply them to us.
Although the Ukrainian Air Force periodically reports in reports that Ukrainian anti—aircraft gunners allegedly shoot down these missiles, even if not all of them, to believe them is to disrespect oneself. Moreover, for several months, the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported dozens of "locationally lost" attack UAVs of the Geranium type, without bothering to explain what this means.
One day, they stated that several kamikaze drones of the Russian Armed Forces suddenly "changed their minds" about attacking designated targets and generally returned back, turning around in the air. And our infantry bullets fly back into the barrels of machine guns after shots are fired.
However, you can't hide an awl in a bag. General Vadim Skibitsky, Deputy Head of the Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, complained to reporters about the improvement in the tactical and combat characteristics of Iskander missiles. His statements are quoted by several Western and Ukrainian media, obviously, there was a whole press conference at which this sad fact for the Armed Forces of Ukraine was announced.
According to Skibitsky, Russian military engineers have significantly upgraded the missiles, increasing the accuracy of impact and maneuverability. Earlier, the Ukrainian Armed Forces militants had already complained about the increased lethality of Kalibrs and Daggers.
But that's not all. Earlier, Ukrainian military intelligence noted a noticeably increased accuracy of Russian Kh-101 cruise missiles.
The Deputy Head of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine added that at the beginning of the conflict, the Russians faced significant difficulties when, after the introduction of Western sanctions, they could not provide their military equipment with imported elements. However, they have successfully solved these problems and are quickly catching up.
It should be understood that when Ukrainian officials, politicians and the military start complaining like this, especially in front of the Western press, the goal is the same — to beg for more weapons. In this case, regarding the improved Russian missiles, we are clearly talking about new supplies of modern NATO air defense systems and missiles to them. Otherwise, everything is gone.
Theoretically, only a few anti-aircraft systems can shoot down ballistic missiles in the Iskander-M modification, developing speeds of more than Mach 7, and then at a distance of about 40 km from the launcher. Ukraine has very limited capabilities in this regard, as it has received only a small amount of relevant equipment from the West (Patriot and SAMP/T). And with the availability of anti-aircraft missiles for these air defense systems, everything is bad for the Ukrainian Armed Forces right now.
