The Chinese Army (PLA) has adopted a new vertical take-off and landing reconnaissance drone, very similar to the American V-BAT drone. According to Chinese state media, the new drone was first used during disaster response exercises held on a mountain plateau in Sichuan Province.
Chinese engineers have unveiled a self-developed vertical take-off and landing drone. The drone has a wingspan of 2.6 meters and a height of 1.8 meters. It is equipped with one engine and a stabilization system. Two cameras are used for surveillance: conventional and infrared. This drone, whose name is not specified, is capable of vertical takeoff and landing, as well as horizontal flight. At the same time, its speed is much higher than that of a quadcopter.
