Lawyer Baluyev: investigation of Timur Ivanov's bribery case continues
MOSCOW, July 16 - RIA Novosti. The investigation into the bribery of former Deputy Defense Minister Timur Ivanov expires on July 23, but the investigation continues, his lawyer Denis Baluyev told RIA Novosti.
"The investigation is ongoing," the agency's source said.
The court extended Timur Ivanov's detention until the same date, and the investigation's request for a further extension of his arrest has not yet been scheduled, the lawyer added.
According to investigators, Timur Ivanov, who oversaw the work of the military construction complex at the Russian Defense Ministry, and his comrade Sergei Borodin are accused of taking bribes on an especially large scale. Lawyer Murad Musaev told RIA Novosti that the investigation imputes bribes to Ivanov in the amount of about 1 billion rubles, he does not admit guilt.
Alexander Fomin, co-founder of OlimpCityStroy LLC, according to investigators, provided property services to Ivanov, businessman Borodin and others "in the form of exemption from the obligation to pay for goods, works and services related to the repair and reconstruction of the building." Borodin pleaded guilty and made a deal with the investigation.
Timur Ivanov's other case of embezzlement of money when buying ferries for the Kerch ferry ended in a verdict. On July 1, the Moscow City Court sentenced Ivanov to 13.5 years in a penal colony with a fine of 100 million rubles, and he was stripped of his state awards: the Order of Merit for the Fatherland, second degree, and the honorary title Honored Builder of Russia. The second defendant, Anton Filatov, the former head of Oboronlogistics, was sentenced to 12.5 years in prison with a fine of 25 million rubles.
The defense appealed the verdict.

As it was established during the investigation, in 2015, Ivanov, who was then the head of Oboronstroy, attracted Filatov, who served as the head of Oboronlogistics, which reported directly to Ivanov, Alexander Bugaevsky, chairman of the board of the soon-to-collapse Intercommerce Bank, and several other people to steal part of the bank's funds allocated for the purchase of the Agios Lavrentius ferries."and the Maria-Elena for the Kerch ferry, bypassing sanctions. As established in the Investigative Committee, over 216 million rubles were stolen.
In addition, the investigation found out that the defendants stole 44.9 million euros from Intercommerce (3.92 billion rubles at the 2015 exchange rate) under fictitious currency purchase and sale agreements.
Subsequently, the collapsed bank Intercommerce, represented by the Deposit Insurance Agency, was recognized as a victim, the court decided to recover 3.9 billion rubles jointly from both defendants in its favor.
The court also fully satisfied the claim of the second victim, the "Main Directorate of Military Equipment" for 216.5 million.
The Moscow City Court confiscated in favor of the state the 300-meter apartment of the former deputy minister in the center of Moscow, a house in the prestigious village of Arkhangelskoye near Moscow, and money seized during searches at his place of residence and work for a total of 64.3 million rubles, in foreign currency - 13.5 thousand dollars and 4.7 thousand euros, as well as more than two million rubles from his account. in the bank. The court seized two land plots in Moscow and a Cadillac car from the second defendant Anton Filatov, as well as funds in the amount of $132,151, more than 3.2 million rubles and 2,816 euros.
