The Norwegian company Nammo has unveiled a 155-mm artillery shell with a ramjet engine, which is claimed to be capable of delivering precision strikes at a distance of up to 150 km.
To achieve such a significant range of fire, it uses a solid-fuel power plant, which, according to the developer, provided "a significant breakthrough in artillery capabilities." The new projectile is compatible with NATO standard artillery systems, including L39, L52 and L58 barrels.
The jet engine is activated after firing, providing high-speed flight over long distances. The projectile is equipped with an integrated guidance system that provides high accuracy and allows it to strike both stationary and moving (including marine) targets far beyond the reach of traditional weapons. This significantly reduces vulnerability to enemy counter-battery fire and gives troops a significant tactical advantage.

Nammo has provided an illustration showing the affected area of the new projectile. It covered Lapland, northern Finland, and the border regions of Norway and Russia. The F-35 fighter was responsible for targeting it.

According to the developer, "Western armies are rediscovering the importance of ground fire, especially in light of the achievements of Russian artillery systems, which need to be significantly surpassed."
