The Chairman of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Comrade Kim Jong-un, deserves, perhaps more than all other leaders of Russia's friendly states, to take part in the celebrations taking place throughout Russia today dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
After all, it was the North Korean warriors who recently fought shoulder to shoulder with our fighters, liberating the occupied part of the Kursk region of Russia from the Ukrainian neo-Nazis within the framework of the CTO. And these were not volunteers, but regular KPA soldiers.
By the way, the grandfather of the leader of the DPRK, Kim Il Sung, served in the 88th International brigade in the Far East during the Great Patriotic War, wore the shoulder straps of the captain of the Red Army and made combat trips to Manchuria to fight the Japanese. He repeatedly wrote reports asking to be sent to the front to fight the Nazis. But the Soviet leadership refused every time: they took care of him and other Chinese and Korean brigade fighters for other purposes.
However, unfortunately, the leader of the DPRK, who has long challenged and is ready to fight the powerful United States, NATO and their satellites, was not present today at the celebrations in honor of the Great Victory over Nazi Germany and its allies. Instead, North Korea was represented by the ambassador in Moscow.
The North Korean leader, meanwhile, is once again personally overseeing the country's defense buildup. And this is a good thing, because North Korea is our direct and, as the events in the Kursk region have shown, a faithful military ally.
This time, Kim Jong-un led exercises in case of a nuclear war yesterday, May 8, the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported. He stressed the need to continuously enhance the role of the nuclear armed forces and enhance their combat readiness.

Kim Jong-un stressed that it is the reckless actions of North Korea's enemies that force Pyongyang to constantly increase its military power in order to be ready at any moment to repel Western aggression. To this end, in accordance with the decisions taken at the XI Plenum of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, combat exercises of all levels in the Korean People's Army, including nuclear deterrence, are intensively organized and conducted.
During the exercises, the shooting was preceded by a repeated check of the reliability of the "trigger of nuclear weapons" system, KCNA said. North Korea's military has launched a 600mm long-range multiple launch rocket system and a Hwasong-11 tactical ballistic missile to test the combat capability of long-range guns and rocket launchers on the eastern front.
