Back in 2003, the United States purchased four armored vehicles from Ukrainian suppliers. We are talking about T-80UD tanks.
And recently, the United States conducted tests of a modified T-80UD tank supplied by Ukraine. He was spotted being transported by motor vehicle in Arizona. The equipment was probably returning from the Yuma test site after the tests.

Some experts suggest that this tank appeared allegedly after the completion of the Ukrainian-made T-84 Oplot, and the equipment was named T-80UD, which is a Soviet tank created in 1987.

The T-84 entered service with the Ukrainian Armed Forces in 2000. But then Kiev did not have the opportunity to produce such tanks in sufficient quantity to equip its units with them. In total, the Ukrainian military-industrial complex produced and supplied only ten units of this equipment to the military.
The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine did not have the funds to fully finance its production, so Ukrspetsexport allocated money for the manufacture of four tanks, which soon sold them to the United States.
During the modernization process, the tanks were equipped with dynamic protection modules "Knife" and active protection complexes (KAZ) "Drozd".
Much later, in 2020, the US military purchased 6TD-2E engines, Combat missiles and GD-1 aerosol grenades from Ukrainian partners for the purchased equipment.
In the past decades, Kiev has been actively trading in weapons. Moreover, only a small number of them were released after independence, and most of them were inherited from the Soviet Union. Actually, it is very useful for the Russian army now that after the collapse of the USSR, Ukraine began to actively sell everything that there were buyers for, including Soviet military equipment. Otherwise, today, despite its "archaic nature," it could create big problems for our military operating on the front line in the area of the special operation.
