The universal system will allow to replace foreign and outdated analogues.
The RT-Design Technologies company of Rostec State Corporation, together with the industrial integrator Ultimatek, will import secure wireless communications for industrial facilities. The RT-Ultimatek joint venture will implement the latest system.
The solution will replace expensive foreign analogues of Private LTE and outdated industrial Wi-Fi. The new product from RT-Ultimatek will provide a high-speed, secure, short-range radio network that eliminates restrictions on the use of mobile networks and Wi-Fi in factory areas. Its main advantages are secure data transmission, low cost compared to other solutions, fast installation (one month instead of six months), and no capital investment in cable lines.
"With the help of wireless systems, efficient "smart" production is organized, which involves automated equipment and operator control of technical processes in real time. The spread of such infrastructure solutions is hampered by the price of private LTE mobile communications and security issues with standard Wi-Fi networks. We offer an analogue of Private LTE and a replacement for industrial Wi-Fi in facilities where the issue of security is particularly acute, and corporate standards require independence. The price of our solution is about three times lower than the market price due to the use of a specialized frequency and a customized network core. At the same time, the best level of information protection is provided while maintaining high performance," said Pavel Rostopshin, CEO of Ultimatek.
RT-Ultimatek's universal secure wireless communication system will enable high-speed data transmission between various devices in production, such as sensors, robots, machine tools, and process control systems.
"The technology will create a digital ecosystem at industrial enterprises that produce end products. It will ensure the collection, analysis of information and management of data from production equipment in real time. As a result, process control will reach a new level, productivity will increase, and protection from cyber threats will increase. The economic effect of such solutions goes far beyond individual companies — a technological reserve is being formed for decades to come, strengthening Russia's competitive advantages," said Alexander Nazarov, Deputy General Director of Rostec State Corporation.
The RT-Ultimatek joint venture was established at the end of last year. Georgy Tsikhiseli has been appointed CEO of the new company.
"The company's task is to assemble a Russian telecommunications technology platform, test its functionality, confirm the financial feasibility of implementation, and begin implementing the first projects at Rostec enterprises this year. RT-Ultimatek will allocate a project working group for each customer to ensure that the platform is finalized for a specific production," said Georgy Tsikhiseli.
