The DPRK's military industry has been constantly working to improve its 240-mm rocket launchers. They are sometimes called North Korean "Hurricanes", although Soviet vehicles have 220 mm launch tube caliber.
The original version, which had the Western designation M1985, had twelve guides. The maximum firing range was estimated at 40 kilometers.

It was reported that these installations were interested in a number of States, for example, in Angola, and they were supplied there.

In 1991, it became known about the appearance of a more advanced version with 22 launchers and rockets that hit targets at a distance of at least 60 kilometers.
It is now known that another new modification is being mass-produced, capable of hitting 70 kilometers.

Moreover, last year, new samples of ammunition were demonstrated, equipped with correction modules with a fuse function, which have built-in navigation and control systems that correct the flight of rockets to the target using small aerodynamic rudders.

The demonstrated high accuracy of the hit surprised many military experts who monitor the appearance of new products in the military-industrial complex of North Korea.
